Alfredo
Alfredo, also known as "Blue Mario" or "The Third Mario Brother", is the little-known brother of Mario and Luigi. Unlike most obscure Mario characters, he doesn't have an insane cult following, but he has been known to appear where least expected.
History
Donkey Kong series
Donkey Kong
Alfredo wasn't present in the arcade or NES version of Donkey Kong. As a matter of fact, he wasn't present in most versions. But he did appear in the Intellivision version of the game, presumably because Mario didn't want to appear on such a lame console. And he was also in the board game.
Donkey Kong Jr.
Pretty much the same deal as in Donkey Kong here, except now Alfredo's even bluer! He also shows up in the Colecovision version with a sweet cowboy hat.
Mario Bros.
Alfredo was all over the place in this one. In the Atari 5200 version, when you reach the second bonus game, Mario abruptly becomes Alfredo and Luigi's clothes get even greener. In the Amstrad CPC version, Alfredo takes Luigi's place. And finally, in the Game Boy Advance version, he appears as player 4. What a busy brother.
Super Mario series

If for some reason you're playing the PlayChoice-10 version of Super Mario Bros., then you'll see Alfredo on the second page of the instructions screen above the main screen.
