- In the March 3rd Nintendo Direct, Paper Mario: Color Splash (pictured) for Wii U and Western localizations of Rhythm Heaven Megamix for the Nintendo 3DS were announced.
- Nintendo New York, formerly the Nintendo World Store, was reopened on February 19, 2016, after a one-month renovation.
- Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was released in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS on February 18, 2016.
- Yoshi's Story was released in Japan on the Wii U Virtual Console on February 17, 2016.
