I agree that Poochy is a dog and not a separate species called "Poochy," due to the quote at the beginning of his article. Also, he has a good sense of smell in Yoshi's Story like dogs do. The only reason I think Poochy may be a different species is that Yoshi, a dinosaur, can ride him instead of crush him. --Kaden (talk) 14:00, December 2, 2020 (EST)

Infobox Image[edit]

Should it be the Yoshi's Woolly World artwork? I thought we only put general images in the infobox, ones that don't apply to only one game. For example, Bowser Jr.'s infobox image can't depict him in the Junior Clown Car because that applies only to certain games. Should it be changed?

I agree. If there is a more standard choice of artwork for any character (neutral and not stylized for a specific game/series), then we should use that instead.

That already is policy. Whoever is changing the Poochy to yarn Poochy artwork is doing it wrong. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 11:25, 16 February 2017 (EST)

Species[edit]

I highly doubt that. Yoshis have been officially shown to be a species many times. Poochy has always been referred to as and shown to be an individual character. --DeepFriedCabbage 15:06, August 2, 2019 (EDT)

I mean, Poochy Pups from Poochy & Yoshi's Wooly World imply that "Poochy" is a species too, as that's used as an adjective to describe a collective of a related animal. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 14:25, December 2, 2020 (EST)
