Move to Cannon (enemy)?[edit]

Shouldn't we move this to Cannon (enemy), even though the localizers mistaked it as a generic cannon? It's a less specific name though, here's the redirect created around June 2011: (cur | prev) 16:25, June 30, 2011 SWFlash (talk | contribs) . . (21 bytes) (+21) . . (Redirected page to Kaboomba) --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 08:00, March 20, 2019 (EDT)

I think so; the source priority exception proposal doesn't apply to in-game names (of which this is also more recent), and the name Kaboomba sounds too much like a type of Goomba. LinkTheLefty (talk) 08:08, March 20, 2019 (EDT)
I agree, though, what gets it complicated, is that Petey Piranha was mislocalized as Boss P. Plant, likely due to them thinking it was a new boss. Cannon sounds too generic for me. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 08:11, March 20, 2019 (EDT)
Boss P. Plant was corrected to Petey Piranha in PAL territories as opposed to Cannon, which points to it being an intentional retranslation. If Volcano Lotus gets to be renamed to Volcano Plant due to the glossary, I don't see why this must be an exception. LinkTheLefty (talk) 08:28, March 20, 2019 (EDT)
I'm fine with this rename as well. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 08:54, March 20, 2019 (EDT)
I wonder what would Waluigi Time think about it. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 08:55, March 20, 2019 (EDT)
That sounds too generic, and i'm pretty sure that the localization thought it to be just a walking cannon. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 08:07, March 21, 2019 (EDT)
That says, current name is perfectly fine, as it is less generic than "Cannon". --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 14:14, March 21, 2019 (EDT)
I think if we're going to have "Cannon (enemy)," we should at least split the main cannon article into "Cannon (obstacle)" and "Cannon (object)", as this otherwise may confuse new readers regarding the obstacle type (and it kinda needs to be done anyways). Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:47, March 21, 2019 (EDT)
Asked to Niiue, and he said that this page wouldn't risk to be renamed. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 12:33, April 20, 2019 (EDT)
That seems to be internally inconsistent with what he told me about in-game names regarding the source priority exception proposal. LinkTheLefty (talk) 08:51, April 22, 2019 (EDT)
Regarding Petey Piranha, it was corrected due to being that obvious. For the Kaboomba, i don't think they recognized it to be one. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 08:54, April 22, 2019 (EDT)
Well, it's been a year since the last update on this discussion. I'm for Doc's idea. LinkTheLefty (talk) 17:12, April 22, 2020 (EDT)

Renaming[edit]

I think Kaboomba is fine, provided it's been actually used in Yoshi's New Island. --ExdeathIcon.png Lord G. matters. ExdeathIcon.png 14:15, October 4, 2019 (EDT)
