Hint Movies in the castle.

Hint Movies are special movies that give the players hints in the game New Super Mario Bros. Wii. These Hint Movies are found in Princess Peach's Castle where the player can hit the Block found inside. The player must pay Star Coins to watch them. After using a Toad House, players get a message to visit the castle and watch Hint Movies. This, however, is optional although the castle is already open when the player starts the game.

The types of available Hint Movies are:

  • Infinite 1-Ups - shows the player how to get many or even unlimited 1-Ups.
  • Secret Goal - shows the player a secret exit in a level.
  • Star Coins - shows the player how to get a certain star coin in a level.
  • Super Skills - shows the player the "skills" of the developers.

Not every level will have all four Hint Movies.

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, a similar concept called the "Tip Network" appears where this feature is free. Additionally, Hint Movies are also appear in New Super Mario Bros. U, very similar to these from New Super Mario Bros. Wii. However, these, which appear as videos, are available on the NewMarioUEN channel via YouTube rather than in the game itself and Nintendo post videos time to time.
