Gnarly is the first level in Special World of Super Mario World. It is mostly a vertical level in which Mario has to scale ropes or creepers and use springboards to reach the top of the level, then throw himself down, trying to get as many coins as possible before landing near a pipe. After this pipe, there is a pit that Mario must cross by jumping on the platform of an Amazing Flyin' Hammer Brother. It has an Hint Block in the beginning wich tells that there is a surprise at the end of Special World.
