Template:Missionbox Dune Bud Sand Castle Secret is the first episode of Gelato Beach in Super Mario Sunshine. The objective is to collect the Shine Sprite at the end of a secret course.

Layout

In order to enter the secret course, the player must first reveal it. By spraying a Dune Bud directly in front of the beach's peninsula, a large sand castle gate will appear out of the sand. The player then needs to run or dive into the gate before it falls apart, in which case the player would have to spray the Dune Bud again. Entering the gate will transport Mario to the secret course, along with Shadow Mario taking F.L.U.D.D. away as usual.

The player will start on a square platform facing a path of Sand Blocks. The player needs to cross the Sand Blocks to reach the next platform, but the Sand Blocks will start to fall once Mario stands on them, so the player has to move quickly. Beyond the next platform is a longer path of Sand Blocks, though the path also bends slightly. Crossing this path will take the player to a large sand castle made out of Sand and Hard Blocks. At the top of the sand castle is the Shine Sprite.

Red Coins in the Sand Castle

Red Coins in the Sand Castle[1]

Returning to this episode will allow the player to use F.L.U.D.D. and do a Red Coin challenge. On the second green platform is the Red Coin Switch, and Ground Pounding it will cause eight Red Coins to appear on the path ahead and on the sand castle. The player has a time limit of one minute to collect them all; failing to do so will result in losing a life. Three of the Red Coins are along the Sand Block path, with the next five scattered around the sand castle. Collecting all eight Red Coins will have the Shine Sprite appear at the base of the sand castle.
