Dino Rhino are ceratopsian dinosaurs that reside on Chocolate Island in Super Mario World. When Mario jumps on one, it turns into a Dino-Torch, or Mini Rhinos. Mini Rhinos are capable of breathing fire, unlike their bigger form.
In Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, the king of world 6, Iced Land, was transformed into a purple Dino Rhino.
In Paper Mario, an albino sub-species of Dino Rhinos, called Albino Dinos, appear as guards in the Crystal Palace.

Dino Rhinos, though never named as such, appeared only once in the Super Mario World television series.
In the episode "Send in the Clown", a Dino Rhino, along with two Dino-Torchs, was shown to be held in a cage in Bowser's "Koopaling Bros. Circus". After being shoved into this cage by Bowser, Mario narrowly avoids being eaten by the Dino Rhino, which he defeats by shooting fireballs into the creatures mouth after transforming into Fire Mario using a Fire Flower.
