- New Super Mario Bros. Wii was the first game to introduce the Koopalings into 3-D models and voices, and was the first game to feature the Koopalings and Bowser Jr. together. It was also the first game where Kamek appears alongside the Koopalings or Bowser Jr. .
- In Hotel Mario, Mario and Luigi have four fingers.
- Drawing Lots was the only Bonus Challenge from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island that did not appear in Yoshi's Island DS.
