Which new game says that the Mushroom Planet is the same as Earth? Phoenix Rider
Well Luigis mansion has a globe of Earth, Mario Party 7 has boards that are real places on Earth (Pyrimid park) In Paper Mario it is referred as earth, same with Super Mario Sunshine. Plus when has it stated they are different? Anyway there is the moon whoch is probably the same moon.
They're two different planets.

At the very least, the Mario cartoons, movie, and comics seperated Earth from Mario's world. -- Son of Suns
Yeah but the movie cartoons and so on are alternate cannon.
