Dupree
Dupree is a blue, French-talking, disco-diva wannabe Doogan with a pink afro that appeared often in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. He first appeared trying to make a romantic relationship with Goombella in Petalburg, and from then on continued to reappear in the towns that Mario visited. He also flirted with many other women such as the the wife of the Twilight Town's shopkeeper, and the owner of Fahr Outpost's Inn.
As the game goes on, Goombella continues to express her distaste for him, but she has to admit that she is impressed by how he always seems to know where Mario and company are going to be, and always gets there ahead of them. This may be a commentary on characters in the Legend of Zelda series (such as Kaepora Gaebora the owl in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Old Man Ho Ho in Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker) who show up in several different places and are always just waiting for the player to show up.
