Some believe that it is a scrapped sequel to the original Donkey Kong, a precursor to the 1994 Game Boy remake. Another possibility is being an earlier name for Donkey Kong Classics, a two-in-one cartridge containing Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr..
It is also possible that it was to be a Famicom Disk System remake of the original game, in a similar fashion to Kaette Kita Mario Bros. Template:BoxTop Template:DKGames Template:CancelledGames
