Definition of a "Stub"

When does a stub cease to be a stub? Is there some sort of definition? I always thought of stubs to be about one to two sentences long, but I've also seen longer articles marked as stub. - Gabumon^(talk) 12:59, 14 October 2009 (EDT)

I think articles longer than two sentences can also be stubs, as long as there is much more to write about a topic. For example, if the Mario article were 20 sentences long, it would be a stub as well, IMO. Time Questions 14:40, 14 October 2009 (EDT)

Yeah, ok, the Mario-article with 20 sentences IS ridiculous. But take Cymbal Bush for an example. I just rewrote that part and added everything I could think of. However, it's still only 997 bytes in size. Would that still be a stub?- Gabumon^(talk) 14:45, 14 October 2009 (EDT)

Personally, I consider something unstubbed if it contains the five things I described in the "Main Page" example. The physical size of the article doesn't matter as long as all the important information is covered. You don't need to make it FA quality to unstub it. Merge Recipes

Many of these stubs are food items from the Paperi Mario series. It is hard to add more information to them, because there's little to say about them. The only thing we could add to those is a description what the item looks like. Perhaps it would be better to merge them, like the article about Badges? - Gabumon^(talk) 10:57, 15 October 2009 (EDT)

I remember bringing this up three year ago, but the general consensus at the time was to give everything officially named its own article. Of course, the community has changed a lot since then. You could make a proposal about it. You can still unstub the recipes. You can describe the game it appeared in, how it can be made, descibe its appearance, what it does, and the value of the item (how much it is sold for). That's at least five sentences, which should be enough to unstub them. As for the part about the value of the recipe, you can probably find that in an item FAQ on Gamefaqs.--Knife (talk) 14:41, 15 October 2009 (EDT)

Hi, I'm kind of new here, working on unstubifying and whatnot. Huge Mario fan, doing my part. I was looking through stubbed articles and noticed a few of them to be special attacks from Super Mario RPG. I think they should be merged to the page of whoever it is; Geno Boost to Geno and the like. Also, most items for Super Mario RPG are stubs, so they should be merged - Tac0bell89 18:37, 14 December 2009 (EST)

Sluggy the Unshaven's Forest

I don't think it's a stub. It can certainly be expanded (which is why the rewrite-expand tag should stay there), but there's no need for the stub tag. Time Questions 18:43, 19 November 2009 (EST)

Taunt (microgame)

I recently deleted Taunt (microgame) as a stub, as I believe that there's pretty much no information we can add to it. Do you guys consider it a stub? Hello, I'm Time Turner.

I wouldn't consider it as a stub since you can't add more to it. So, sure you can delete the stub thingy, but you have to give the reason on why in the edit summary. Fawfulfury65
