The Item Space is a rare space that appears in Mario Party 2 and Mario Party 3. If a player lands this space in Mario Party 2, the player will play an Item mini-game for a chance to get an item. The mini-game varies on the board being played.

Item Mini-Games in Mario Party 2

In Mario Party 3, a player may either play an Item Mini-Game or be visited by either Toad or Baby Bowser, who will ask the player a question.

Baby Bowser's questions are Yes/No questions such as "Do you like to study?" Answers suggesting less maturity will generally earn the player more/better items. Answers suggesting more maturity may cause him to say "Don't go around saying stuff just so people will like you!" and give you nothing.

Toad's questions are more choice-oriented, such as "What kind of item would you most like to have?", and offer three possible choices. Answers suggesting greed are more likely to cause Toad to leave and give you nothing. Answers suggesting less greed will generally net the player more/better items, or possibly a rare item.
