A Candy Cane from Paper Mario.

Candy Canes are a species of possibly living rock that are found in Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64, and its sequel, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Candy Canes are mysterious objects that look like blue and green striped rock creatures that grow off the ground and live exclusively in Pleasant Path and Petal Meadows. Candy Canes are incapable of any movement, although it is implied they are capable to to think and to observe.

As Russ T. mentions about these mysterious objects, there are rumors that tell that if Mario does "something" for the Candy Canes, one of the Candy Canes will give Mario a reward. This rumor is proven true by Mario himself, as there is actually a Candy Cane that stares at Mario even if he moves; this strange, unique Candy Cane has the ability follow Mario with its eyes. This Candy Cane is found in the separation of paths near the bridge that takes to the Koopa Bros. Fortress. If Mario walks or runs around this peculiar Candy Cane, it will follow Mario with its sight and throw HP Hearts around the area. Each HP Heart heals one HP to Mario. The Candy Canes also appear during battles as minor background elements in both Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door in their respective environments.
