Recipe tables

Hi! I appreciate you adding new recipes to pages, but please do not change the existing format, as you've done with, for example, Gold Bar × 3. Simply add new recipes according to the existing format like you did with Berry Snow Bunny. As the creator of the existing format, I find that labeling ingredients as being either 1 or 2 could lead to confusion as readers could think they have to be selected in a certain order to make the recipe. Originally I had the table labels as 'Ingredient Option 1' and 'Ingredient Option 2' which is more clear that either way round is possible but someone else changed it idk who. Plus your format doesn't allow for space optimisation and every recipe must be listed rather than combinations being compressed. My format is easier to expand upon and is much nicer on the eyes in my opinion

Hi, Lilyuwu. I am another user on staff. Thank you for your efforts to contribute to the site, and I am sorry for the frustrations. We know how it feels to have work overturned.

Super Mario Wiki is a communal space and craft, and some elements of the site were determined via proposals. Because these elements were the result of the democratic consent of the userbase, they cannot be unilaterally overturned. We can do a better job of relaying this to new users.

If you want to carry out a substantial change on the site, you are welcomed to raise your own proposal on the page MarioWiki:Proposals, which also explains the rules involved with them.

Since you are a newer user, I also recommend reviewing our rules and writing guidelines, which should help you proceed and better understand how the site works. As a final reminder, please make sure to add your signature to talk page replies, which you can do by typing ~~~~ at the end of your message before clicking "Save changes." It is how we keep records on the site, and make sure folks can follow conversations when multiple people are involved.

The proposals system seems very convoluted, I think I shall just leave the pages as they are. It's a shame since all I wanted to do was make the recipes more complete for users, and easier to understand and view, but it seems I am unable to do that without great difficulty and removal of my hard work

You could always list the recipes you want to add on your own user page, and then other users can add them to pages using the existing table format. Technetium (talk) 21:38, September 13, 2025 (EDT)
