The 'Shroom:Issue 179/Staff Notes
Putting in charge a chaotic duo made up of a Ninja and a Cereal Magnate of leading a newspaper... Maybe this wasn't the best of ideas, but since I am here, I may as well make the introduction.
Hi there, 'Shroom readers! I am Ninja Squid. I am not a new face at all for The 'Shroom, but I will be the new face you will see here for the upcoming future as I was elected to serve as the Director of The 'Shroom for the 2022 term. In regard to this matter, I wish to thank everyone on Waluigi Time and myself's behalf, who voices their support for us. We truly appreciated it! As you can see, we are already hard at work at making quality of life improvements with the help of the Core 'Shroom Staff, such as making it easier to look for older 'Shroom issues using the roman numerals format, and creating a sub-board for 'Shroom creations. With regard to the latter, Waluigi Time will provide more information on it just below.
We also have many other projects in the works, with some of them that may well interest you, so stay tuned for it!
Second off, we are officially announcing that our new Graphic Design Manager is none other than GBAToad (talk)! We are thrilled to see him return to the Core 'Shroom Staff after 8 years of absence (Did you know that GBA was a 'Shroom Spotlight Manager way back in 2014?), and we hope you are looking forward as much as us to the wonderful assets he will provide the newspaper in the future! You can also see some of his work in some of the most well-received forum games such as in Awards Killing Game 4 and Scribble Deathmatch. With that said, we want to thank everyone who has applied for the position. Know that your applications were great, and it was more of a case where we could not unfortunately accept them all. Although, take note that your interest in the position has not gone unnoticed, and you will be on our shortlist if the position is again open or for extra assets the newspaper may require.
This is all I needed to cover for the moment. I will leave it to Waluigi Time who has further important announcements for you. Make sure to read all of our sections crafted by our wonderful team of writers! In the meantime, I will have to find out why the Sub-Director Office has a strange smell of onions. Gross!

Expecting Roserade? TOO BAD. WALUIGI TIME. That's right, the Sub-Director's Office is all mine now, fully cleaned out and redecorated! Though I wouldn't have been opposed to Rose leaving behind that evil throne of his... Oh well. Now I just have to figure out where all my Super Arrow memorabilia keeps disappearing to.
Alright, I have a couple of announcements. First of all, as Ninja Squid briefly mentioned, the Super Mario Boards now has a dedicated sub-board in Fan Creations for threads related to The 'Shroom! Whether you just want to keep track of everything you've written for The 'Shroom in one place, you want to give visibility to one of your sections, or you'd like to open your section up to reader participation like Mach Speed Mayhem for example, the new 'Shroom Creations board is the place for you to do that! This change was made to make it easier find these threads by keeping them all together in one place and preventing them from being buried by other threads, so hopefully this helps you out. Be sure to check it out and give some support to our fantastic team of writers!
Second, I am very excited to announce that the two of us will be hosting 'Shroom Mafia 4 in collaboration with Goombuigi (talk)! The game's been in development for a while now, and we're getting very close to having everything ready for you. We're currently planning for sign-ups to go up next month alongside the release of Issue 180, with the game itself starting in late March or early April. We put a lot of planning into it and I think it's going to be a fun time!
