The 'Shroom:Issue LIII/Director's Notes
The 'Shroom Spotlight has had an increase in sign-ups, which is good, but we need more people to sign up to improve this project: this is one of those cases where the phrase "the bigger the better" applies. So do not be shy, go and contact Xzelion (talk) today and see how you can help out!
The Awards went wonderfully on August 12th, 2011! The 'Shroom Awards II and the presentations posted up were quite remarkable. I owe a big "thank you" to those who voted, those who presented, and those who attended the ceremonies. Also, let us not forget to thank Ralphfan (talk) (who led the entire Awards event into a great direction and allowed us to have ten 'Shroom Awards this year) and Tucayo (talk) (who came out for the day during his retirement to host 'Shroom Awards II).
Next month is our big Special Issue in celebration of the Super Mario Wiki anniversary and the Awards. To explain why we will have the Special Issue in September (as opposed to this issue): the Awards were not too long ago, and everybody had to work on presentations and voting and such, so we simply did not expect everybody to jump right back up and exert more energy to make this issue a Special Issue. In addition to that, Special Issue XXX (which was in celebration of the 2009 ceremonies) was done in September 2009 partially for the same reasons. So we will be following the precedent set by Tucayo two years ago from next month.
What can you expect from Special Issue LIV? Well, we will be having a chat party one hour before the release of the issue next month (the release being at 16:00 EDT (GMT - 4:00), we will likely have special guest sections again, special interviews with winners of the several events held in conjunction with the Awards, our next Feedback Survey, and much more.
And I suppose that is all that needs to be said this time around. The September Special Issue will be released on September 17th, 2011. I hope everybody will enjoy it, because I am certain it will be a blast!
Until next month,
