I believe the part where it says

the copyright for it is most likely held by the company that developed the game

should be changed into

the copyright for it is most likely held by the company that published the game

since, well, in most cases only the publisher holds the copyrights for a game (for istance copyrights for all Mario and related series games are held by Nintendo, not by Rare, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, etc.)--Kombatgod (talk) 06:38, 22 April 2013 (EDT)

I believe that in most cases, developers may still have right to the engine, assets w/e of a game even if they don't own the franchise, but you're right. Thanks for pointing this out. --Glowsquid (talk) 07:24, 22 April 2013 (EDT)
