Merge to Coin?[edit]

While this object does have a unique name, and a super weird-looking modified appearance, for all intents and purposes, it seems to just be a regular Coin from the Mario Bros. arcade game.
We generally don't split these kinds of subjects based solely on appearance, and it appears the only reason Wafers aren't "Coin-shaped" is because of the technical limitations of the system. The fact that this subject only appears in this particular port, in the role of a different object seen in nearly every other version, also indicates this is simply an off-model coin with a different title.
Should this be merged to Coin's page? Or is there some distinction I haven't spotted which justifies this article's existence? Wandering Poplin (talk) 12:34, January 3, 2026 (EST)
- I could go either way, but "coins" still appear relatively unscathed in bonus phases, and wafers have some notability for also being used in the Atari 2600 conversion of PAC-MAN. LinkTheLefty (talk) 13:05, January 3, 2026 (EST)
- It has a different name and a different appearance, ergo it's not a coin. Plus it's got unique custom artwork. Shadow2 (talk) 21:03, January 3, 2026 (EST)
- if regular coins also exist within the game, then we should not merge these with them. —
