Rename to "Sol Balloon"?[edit]
Gameplay from an English cabinet shows that to be the name of the kart, for some reason (it sounds like a mistake from a fan translation, if I'm being honest). Is there another source which gives it the "Soul Varoon" name?

- "Soul Varoon" also sounds like a mistake from a fan translation, given what the kart is actually based on. At the very least "sol" is closer to the intended meaning than "soul," and if that is the in-game name, it should have priority. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:12, May 10, 2026 (UTC)
- It's a bit confusing because over on Talk:Blooper Diver, Mario JC has pointed to this vid to verify that name as opposed to "Geso Diver"; this is also where "Soul Varoon" seems to come from, as well as other quirks such as how DONDOKO Drive is spelled like "Don Doko Drive", or how Dyno-Buggy and X-Racer lack their dashes. The thing is, I'm pretty sure this is a fan-translated mod from a Japanese rom dump, as opposed to the official English version like with the cabinet, given how PAC-MAN and Don-chan's names are spelled like "Pac-Man" and "Don-Chan" when arcade cabinets show those names spelled in all-caps ("PAC-MAN" and "DON-CHAN").
That said, the "Varoon" part of the names does sound a lot closer to "Solvalou" than "Balloon" does.rend (talk) (edits) 15:44, May 11, 2026 (UTC)
- "Sol Balloon" kinda gives off the impression of "Star Ship" to me (ie, a spacecraft being given the name of a mundane vehicle but SPACE), while "Varoon" is just odd. From what I can gather, it's a moderately obscure Hindi name, so it's almost certainly further from intent. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:15, May 11, 2026 (UTC)
- The only type of vehicle that I can think of that actually uses the word "balloon" would be a hot-air balloon, which the Solvalou does not resemble. "Varoon" at least sounds like a portmanteau of "valou" and "vroom" (and given that the Japanese name of this vehicle is ソルバルルーン as opposed to ソルバルウ, I feel that was the intention). rend (talk) (edits) 16:25, May 12, 2026 (UTC)
