Decide how to resurrect this page[edit]

Redirect to R.O.B. 1-1-4-0

This might seem like it came out of nowhere, and it kinda did.

This page not existing kind of sticks out like a sore thumb, especially since we have two pages with "Rob" and an identifier: Rob (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door) and Rob (disambiguation), but no just "Rob". When logged out, "Rob" redirects to R.O.B., but this is only because ROB redirects to R.O.B., and case sensitivity is not tracked while logged out (at least for me). This page was apparently deleted due to it being an "unnecessary redirect", but I cannot see what it redirected to, nor why it was deleted over the options I will propose.

The three options to cure this sore thumb and raise this page from the grave are as follows:

  • Remove the identifier from "Rob (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door)" [Blow the grave up!]: The most logical option as the only other page to only be named "Rob" is the disambiguation page.
  • Remove the identifier from Rob (disambiguation) [Five listed Robs]: If other Rob-based subjects have the same amount of precedence, even with names that are not just "Rob".
  • Redirect to R.O.B. [Can robots even die?]: Current result while logged out due to case insensitivity.
  • Do nothing [Rob remains dead]: Status quo.

Blow the grave up![edit]

  1. Altendo (talk) Primary choice. There is no other page that is just called "Rob" (minus identifiers) outside of the disambiguation page.

Five listed Robs[edit]

  1. Altendo (talk) Better than leaving this link for dead.

Can robots even die?[edit]

  1. Altendo (talk) Secondary choice, due to the current redirect working when logged out.
  2. Salmancer (talk) I think the Robotic Operating Buddy is the most notable member of this group by at least a few orders of magnitude, being that they're in more than one piece of media, and are a major part of Nintendo history. My search for "rob" while logged out took me to this page too. In general, I think casing is insufficient in determining where the reader wants to go, due to a combination of faulty memory preventing some from using the correct casing, media without text accompaniment potentially never showing the reader the correct casing, and mobile devices making using proper capitalization somewhat awkward at times.

  4. Hewer (talk) Sure, it's weird for this link to not lead anywhere.
