When Exactly the Solver Unlocks?[edit]
The article currently claims that the Puzzle Solver becomes available at the Battle Lab once you've defeated Hole Punch and cleared the yellow streamer - however, in my playthrough it became available as soon as I cleared the red streamer, much earlier in the game's story. I believe this is because I'm a completionist, and I was trying to find every hidden thing in the red streamer areas before progressing. Some quick research corroborates my belief: the Puzzle Solver seems to unlock based on your playtime, rather than your story progression. However I've no idea how much playtime you actually need for it to unlock. 00dani (talk) 00:37, December 13, 2021 (EST)
- I can confirm this isn't based on playtime. The announcement sometimes won't trigger even if you can earn it, it works this way with the discounts too. Your miss points are checked when you enter the Battle Lab, but I was able to get the item when they were set to 0, although the announcement didn't appear (in Toad Town outside the lab) until I had a lot of points. The game is specifically scripted to announce the item after you destroy the yellow streamer (if you haven't gotten the announcement yet), but it's available long before then. Scrooge200 (talk)
