Talk:List of Skill Trees in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

I would suggest changing the "Extra Health" skill data to present just the health boost it gives, rather than as a boost that also references the HP pools used in the table. The HP pools in the table are only accurate to the initial recruitment of the characters. This is more obvious with Mario, R. Peach, R. Luigi, and Luigi as you would lack the Power Orbs to even be able to max out the Extra Health skills at this point in the game before at least one HP level-up boost takes place. Later heroes have higher HP pools on recruitment. Just going from the table, Yoshi - the last hero unlocked in the story - already starts with 70 HP more than what Mario can skill into, but this is because the HP values used in the table are multiple worlds apart. I found it a little bit off putting. -davidsaroyan

I think it becomes redundant to include the HP bonus twice. But if you get rid of the original, it doesn't match up with everything else. Using the initial HP stats there fits with the rest of the table and shouldn't confuse people when the actual bonus is right beside it.--EldritchdraaksSig1.pngEldritchdraaksSig2.png 22:05, 26 February 2018 (EST)
It might not confuse us in the context of already knowing what those numbers are referring to, but they are outliers compared to the rest of the stat boosts one can skill into (+Cell range, +%damage multipliers, etc.). Unlike those, Max HP is a naturally dynamic stat that increases as you make progress through the game without influence from the Skill Tree, and it can be argued it shouldn't be expected to match up with the rest of the table based on that principle. It didn't really make sense to me to look at that part of the table with the supplied numbers because, as mentioned before, it's impossible to even get those boosted HP numbers for the first part of the roster as listed due to a lack of available Power Orbs at that point. They're based on recruitment HP values, and once a you hit a single HP Level-up in the story the supplied numbers are inaccurate. Due to the Extra Health skills already providing only flat numbers of +HP that would lend to simple tabulation, this seems like a strange decision to make for an information table. A different, less obtrusive term than what I originally used could be drafted if you are worried about the cleanliness of the table, like "+X Max HP" or even simply "+X HP." -davidsaroyan
You make a good point, and the cleanliness is definitely a worry of mine. I suppose using "(+X HP ► +X HP)" would work just fine. I'm surprised you haven't made an account yet. --EldritchdraaksSig1.pngEldritchdraaksSig2.png 15:18, 27 February 2018 (EST)
Effectively, we still don't report the HP progression through the game, anyway, since the HP stat can have multiple starting values for each character, I agree that we should either report all the final HP stats after the bonuses or just use the bouns (total bonus before ► total bonus after) format to maintain consistency. When we report the HP progression, we can add an explanation as to why it is reported differently in the introduction with a link at it.--Mister Wu (talk) 07:07, 27 February 2018 (EST)
