Appears in Super Mario Kodansha manga (Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 6) (1992)
Greater location Toad Town

The Shokudōgai is the restaurant district of Toad Town that appears in the first chapter of Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 6 of the Super Mario Kodansha manga.

While going to Bowser's hideout, Yoshi is distracted by the smell of the food and walk towards the restaurant district, despite Mario (who was riding him) telling him they should keep continuing on their mission. The cooks, recognizing Mario from TV after he was hired by the Mushroom King as the new chief detective of the Special Kinoko Police, show their gratefulness and respect for him by offering free food to him and Yoshi. Unable to refuse, Mario accepts and, after being fattened up, arrives at their destination, where Luigi was waiting.

Of the cooks, three are seen: a catfish-like creature managing a ramen shop, a Wiggler managing a dango shop, and the Yurarin Boo from the Super Mario Land manga, still with its snout tied up, and still running the takoyaki shop it opened after the adventure in Muda Kingdom.
