MarioWiki talk:Galleries

Would it be a better idea to create a subpage rather than another page for galleries? For instance, rather than using the name Gallery:Super Mario 3D World, it is instead Super Mario 3D World/Gallery. This way, we can ditch point-out-the-obvious intro lines while retaining the important link that leads back to the article's page. Plus, it is more easily found on the search engine, so many users can see the gallery pages of the subject they want to find once they start typing. It will take some work, however, and that's probably the biggest downside. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! However, the reason why we abolished subpages of articles in the past (i.e. Super Mario Bros./Glitches) was because the articles should be able to exist on their own merit and not just as an extension of an existing page (as per MarioWiki:Lists. Any besides, "Gallery" is its own namespace.

Ah, I see. Good thing I can some information about this before starting any unnecessary proposals. I'm not too spot-on with policy (so much words >_<), so thanks for telling me.

What's included?[edit]

Should all images of something be in a gallery? For example, should this image be added to Jump's gallery, since it features jumping? And if so, should its alternate versions be added along with it? (It just sorta seemed like saturation, so I thought I'd check in first.) JoeRunner (talk and stuff) 19:02, September 8, 2019 (EDT)

What exactly should go in a screenshot section?[edit]

I usually see the "screenshot" section used most before a game's release, for official press screenshots. It's also usually rather unorganized, with the images being released before people know where they take place in the game. Adding every screenshot of a game to this one gallery section seems excessive, so should it just be official screenshots or trailer images? What should be added here, and how much is too much?
