Koala-san is a koala mother that lives in the Australia Course of the Golf Club, appearing in the Super Mario World! Mario Open Golf manga of the Kodansha series.

While playing on the Australia Course, Mario is lacking behind on the others, and gets the idea to swing the ball over an eucalyptus tree in the middle of the field, but Koala-san climbs onto him and orders him not to. She explains her eight kids are currently taking a nap in that tree. Mario accepts to surpass the obstacles in another way, to which Koala-san thanks him and admits that he finds him cute, clinging to his face and preventing him from playing optimally. Peach, longing to hold a koala, tries to lure Koala-san to her by waving her club near the tree, but ends up angering the Bunbun of a beehive and, by swinging her club in fear, accumulates too many air shots to be disqualified.

Later, due to an earthquake created by Billy, Mario accidentally sends his ball on the other side of a gorge: if he cannot reach it and finish the hole, he will be disqualified. To this, Koala-san wakes up her kids and together they form a koala bridge over the gorge, letting Mario hit the ball and finish the hole.

Koala-san is not seen in the following chapters, but by the time of the final panel, she has returned to cling onto Mario.
