While fighting Super Mario Great, Koopa Seven gets the upperhand thanks to his superior size. Seeing then Great's hat emblem blinking, a sign that the transformation is about to expire, he performs the Kameriumu Kōsen to kill him. To save Mario from death, Great separates from him, intending to die in his place. Mario refuses this, and passes him the Muteki Star Bracelet to make him invincible, saving him and making him able to defeat Koopa Seven.
