(The Jumping Shoes increase your jumping to six meters, allowing you to run faster than a car; consequently, the power of your kicks is also doubled.
The drawback of this invention is that you can't come to an halt suddenly...)”
Description, Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World (Time Traveler)

The Jumping Shoes are the second of seven inventions made by Dr. Mario Nakamatsu that he gives to Mario in the "Time Traveler" story arc in the Super Mario Kodansha manga. They are shoes with springs in the soles.

This invention is pulled out by Mario in chapter 1 and later in chapter 2 by Luigi as well. In the Jurassic Era, when Bowser attempts to escape with Chibi Peach to his Time Machine, Mario stops him by kicking him in the face with the Jumping Shoes, but then trips, letting him escape.

At the beginning of chapter 2, Mario and Luigi both uses the Shoes to save a Toad couple from being robbed in the Far West by Boom Boom's gang of outlaws. Mario and Luigi kick at them, but the bandits duck. Unbeknownst to them, the spinged soles attach to a cactus behind them and, when they retract, the cactus falls on top of the bandits, knocking them out.
