Gallery talk:Nintendo Music
Treat the Track Images as Screenshots?[edit]
What's interesting is how Nintendo Music also serves as a big repository for in-game screenshots due to each track image. Should we just count these as normal in-game screenshots and add them to appropriate galleries, or would we need to include a note that says it's from Nintendo Music. For example:
Luigi's Mansion (Nintendo Music)
I personally lean toward not needing the note, these are just high-quality in-game screenshots captured and provided by Nintendo officially. Anyone else have thoughts? MarioComix (talk) 00:58, April 12, 2025 (EDT)
- From what I've seen, other users have started using Nintendo Music track images since months ago on other pages and galleries, too, notably the Super Mario Bros. Wonder images. Interestingly, only the "Arena" image on the Wubba article gives credit to Nintendo Music, while others are only mentioned as screenshots already.
- Additionally, Nintendo Music already reuses various existing official screenshots from Nintendo for various tracks. Examples include "Fossil Falls" (SMO), "Capturing a T-Rex" (SMO), and nearly every single Mario Kart 8 Deluxe course images. I think it's safe to say it's ok to not necessarily credit Nintendo Music; in any case, users can click on images to find its source if they're curious. - MrHonor 22:28, April 12, 2025 (EDT)
Remove the track images?[edit]

As of now, we're seemingly posting every single track image to this gallery. But with this week's massive drop, I'm starting to think we should just remove them all. They'll make the page way too large, and they're already on the soundtrack pages. That said, I'm not entirely sure how to handle the non-Super Mario tracks... We need to keep them since they aren't on other pages, but should we just rename the section or what? People might wonder why those track images are on the page but not the actual Mario ones. - This was something that I was also thinking about a bit ago myself. With more and more drops on the service, there will eventually come a point where the page is just too slow to load because of how much it has, just like the original article for all the tracks. For the track images confusion, I suppose we can simply add a link to the articles themselves in their section here, for convenience? I don't know if that would generally be ok for a gallery to do that, but every soundtrack article has their full tracklist (images included) at the beginning of their page, so a quick link hop and they're already where they're looking for. I will also add that not every soundtrack article has their gallery set up yet, so we will need to check for any stray JP track images before anything happens. MrHonor 00:01, October 9, 2025 (EDT)
- I'd go a step further and suggest that perhaps we don't need to include pretty much anything from the individual soundtracks on this page. Any image pertaining to them should be present in the galleries for each soundtrack, and there's a category if someone wants to see them all.
- For the non-Super Mario tracks with Super Mario elements in their images it unfortunately might be best to simply get rid of them completely. They weren't being well-maintained at any rate since some of the mentioned ones haven't had their images added yet. Polley001 (talk) 00:05, October 9, 2025 (EDT)
- Nah. This isn't a good idea at all. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 00:31, October 20, 2025 (EDT)
