What?[edit]

How is that a Mini-bomb kart? It appears to be a Snowman. Considering, its head is clearly visible, as if it had been hit. General bob-omb.JPGGeneral bob-ombArtwork of a Bob-omb, from Mario Kart Wii. 16:03, 23 February 2012 (EST)

Pre-release Status[edit]

What element here is pre-release? I remember when this image was used for an infuriatingly long time to say that thee were going to be white Bob-ombs in Frappe Snowland, despite that obviously being a snowman, but is there any reason to keep this image? Comparing this image to the final game, the racer icons in the center are facing the wrong direction (checked both normal and mirror mode) and there appears to be a snow-themed Mini Bomb Kart. But I see the snowman head on Wario's screen, but it doesn't look like he ran into it, so I don't know what's going on there. EDIT: Looking closer, it appears the snowman is a Mini Bomb Kart, as in a mobile snowman? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 13:43, 22 December 2017 (EST)
That's looks literally nothing like a Mini Bomb Kart. That's the snowman's lower half. I suppose the snowman in the final don't have feet though. If those even are feet..... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:23, 22 December 2017 (EST)
They look like the wheels to the Mini Bomb Kart, though. There are four, small, spheres. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:26, 22 December 2017 (EST)
The textures on the back "wheels" look more flattened to me. Like a shoe heel. Also, those are wheels? I thought they were like the weird....thingies Chuckya has. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:32, 22 December 2017 (EST)
Yeah, they're wheels. The Bomb uses them to scoot around (has "kart" in the name). At this angle, it is difficult to make out, but it looks that way with the in game Bomb Kart as well. I don't know, maybe they could've just acted like stilts or something? Another thing that bothers me is how the snowman is: in the final game, just the head is visible in the ground after being hit, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Perhaps an old MK64 video on this track can be located? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:39, 22 December 2017 (EST)
It's also possible they were some sort of early "hit" particle effect or it popping back out of the ground after being hit. A video would certainly be nice, but with my current bandwidth I couldn't hope to find one. Honestly all we can say definitively is that there's spheres resembling those on a mini bomb kart, but the object itself is rather clearly a snowman body.
