Category talk:Yoshi's themes

Renaming the category.

I am starting this discussion since the "Move" tag I previously added to this page was recently removed from the page due to the absence of an ongoing discussion.

The issue is fairly straightforward; the name of this category feels ill-suited for what it is trying to cover, as nobody can be reasonably expected to believe that a category called "Yoshi's themes" is meant to refer to both Yoshi and the species of the same name, rather than solely the character himself. The same issues apply to Category:Toad's themes. The descriptions of both pages do attempt to clarify things, but I feel that it would be better if we avoided the issue altogether and renamed both categories to something less character specific, rather than having to deal with the inevitable confusion the title will eventually cause to unsuspecting editors. I don't necessarily disagree with this, but I'm wondering: What about the categories Category:Boo's themes, Category:Piranha Plant's themes, and Category:Shy Guy's themes? As those categories also cover musical themes pertaining to specific variants and members rather than solely the generic Boos, Piranha Plants, and Shy Guys (e.g. "Big Boo's Haunt", "Dino Piranha", "Game Guy Mini-Game", etc.). Should those be moved to Category:Boo themes, Category:Piranha Plant themes, and Category:Shy Guy themes respectively? Wilben (talk • edits) 05:20, July 5, 2026 (UTC)
