Sadly, what started as a short nap turned into eternal rest for this young girl. During the events of Luigi's Mansion, Sue Pea resides in the Guest Room on the second floor of the titular mansion. This portrait ghost spends her afterlife sleeping in the bed of the Guest Room, hidden away as to not be awakened. Strangely, the Guest Room is upside-down, so Sue Pea sleeps in a bed attached to the room's ceiling, instead of the floor. Luigi does not need to capture Sue Pea to help find his brother Mario, however, if the green-clad ghost-hunter manages to capture the portrait ghost, he is rewarded with Sue Pea's magnificent treasure.

When Luigi first enters the Guest Room, the plumber finds Sue Pea sleeping in her bed on the ceiling. After examining her heart with the Game Boy Horror, Luigi discovers that Sue Pea promises to never wet the bed. As such, to begin the battle with the slumbering ghoul, Luigi has to spray water from his Poltergust 3000 at Sue Pea. Fortunately, a vase in the adjacent room produces Water Elemental Ghosts, providing the water Luigi needs to douse Sue Pea. After spraying her three times, Sue Pea's heart is exposed and Luigi could pull her in with the Poltergust. But first he needed to deal with the dolls Sue Pea levitates and tosses at the hero, dealing five Hit Points of damage with each successful strike. If Sue Pea falls back to slumber, she just has to be doused by water again. Ultimately, Luigi sucks up the portrait ghost.
After capturing Sue Pea, the Guest Room lights up and a treasure chest appears on the ceiling, out of reach. After capturing Sue Pea, the Guest Rooms light activats and a treasure chest appears on the ceiling. Unfortunately, the chest is out of reach for Luigi. Distraught, Luigi leaves the room. After closing the door, the green-clad hero hears (and feels) the mansion rumble. Returning to the Guest Room, Luigi discovers the entire room had turned right-side up. With the treasure chest now accessible, Luigi opens the box and claims a Gold Bar and a Silver Diamond (among other minor treasures). The plumber can also collect a Blue Stone by watering the plant in the corner of the room.

Sue Pea, the Dozing Girl is a seven year old portrait ghost that died in her sleep. Her name comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia for someone sleeping,「スー・ピー」(Sū Pī). During the events of Luigi's Mansion and its remake, Sue Pea resides in the Guest Room on the second floor of the titular mansion, where she sleeps on a bed attached to the room's ceiling. She is one of the five optional portrait ghosts. Her portrait number in Professor E. Gadd's gallery is 9.

Luigi's Mansion

When Luigi first enters the room, Sue Pea tells Luigi to go away. Examining her with the Game Boy Horror reveals that she promises to never wet the bed, giving a clue on how to provoke her. To do so, Luigi has to spray water from his Poltergust 3000 at Sue Pea, which can be done after vacuuming a Water Elemental Ghost produced by a vase in the adjacent room. After spraying her three times, Sue Pea's heart is exposed and Luigi can pull her in with the Poltergust. While being vacuumed, Sue Pea attacks by tossing dolls, dealing five Hit Points of damage with each successful hit. If Luigi fails to capture her, she resumes sleeping and Luigi has to douse her with water again.

After capturing Sue Pea, the Guest Room lights up and a treasure chest appears on the ceiling, out of reach. Leaving the room causes a quake to happen and returning shows that the guest room has turned right side-up, with the Treasure Chest now accessible. The chest contains a Gold Bar and a Blue Diamond, along with other minor treasures.
