Fat Guy

Template:Species-infobox Fat Guys are corpulent, heavy Shy Guys. Fat Guys appear only in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Paper Mario, Yoshi's Universal Gravitation, and Yoshi's Island DS.

Yoshi's Island

In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi receives a Giant Egg from eating a Fat Guy. Giant Eggs can't be shot and cannot be taken out of the level they are acquired in. Instead upon using the Giant Egg every enemy on screen turns into a Star. Fat Guys may also be used as platforms, but after jumping on them, they will run faster; that applies to the Red Fat Guys only, since the Green Fat Guys always move fast. Oddly enough, when Yoshi has three giant eggs at his disposal, all of the Fat Guys will disappear until Yoshi uses at least one of the giant eggs.

Paper Mario

Main article: Gourmet Guy

In Chapter 4: Trials in the Toy Box, a fat guy named Gourmet Guy sits in front of a pathway between two sides of the train track, and will not budge unless given one of Tayce T.'s Cakes. Upon receiving one he will run around crazily the jump out of sight, leaving behind the Cookbook. At the end of the chapter, he will tell Peach a secret about where the next star spirit is being held if she makes him a Special Strawberry Cake.

Yoshi's Universal Gravitation

Fat Guys reappear in the Game Boy Advance game, Yoshi's Universal Gravitation where they once again appear as enemies and try to kill Yoshi.

Yoshi's Island DS

In Yoshi's Island DS they behaved exactly like they did in the first Yoshi's Island game.

• In Mario Party DS, Fat Guy has a cameo as Soda Cup and Fries in the minigame Fast Food Frenzy.
• When a Fat Guy walks its feet tend to disconnect from the rest of his body on the back-step.
