Face Blocks[1] are blocks that appear in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe's You vs. Boo mode. By default they appear as Red Face Blocks[2], which have their tongue sticking out and cause all the Dotted Line Blocks to become solid, generally blocking the way forward. Jumping into them turns all Face Blocks into White Face Blocks[2], which are smiling and turn the blocks into Dotted Line Blocks for a few seconds. Afterward, the Dotted Line Blocks revert back to being solid and the Face Blocks become Red Face Blocks again. Jumping into a Face Block again also causes it to change back and forth.
