If Mario touches one, he will transform into Big Mario, a Super Mario-sized Small Mario that can break through most blocks (with the exception of Note Blocks) similar to Mega Mario. Depending on whichever Mario amiibo the player scanned to produce the Big Mushroom (classic or modern), Big Mario's clothes will maintain his original Super Mario Bros. style, or change to resemble his modern appearance. The power-up's effects can only be used with levels using the Super Mario Bros. style.

This power-up can only be used with levels using the Super Mario Bros. style.

The only difference between the Classic and Modern Coloring Mario Amiibos is the coloring of Big Mario. Scanning the Classic Coloring Mario will have Big Mario's clothes colored up like his Super Mario Bros. style while Modern Coloring Mario will be in his Modern outfit.
