secret codes
I only realised now that your sig has been changing automatically every month. Can't wait for October. ;)
I did see that note. perhaps should've made discussion before adding it. on one hand I understand since it just says what buttons to press, but on the other hand a game mentioning a cheat code is also a bit more complicated then just listing controls as of all the other instances (not to mention being hidden and games rarely mention secret codes like that ingame) then theres the instance of the code in Bowser's Inside Story, which is also on the page. True they do mention hearing the 'buttons' being pressed, but it's still essentialy passing secret info meant for the player, and again a bit more special then the usual "press 'this button' to do 'this'.Pikmin theories (talk) 22:15, November 10, 2023 (EST)

:And I <s>stole</s> borrowed it from Phoenix, lmao.
Hello, Mario jc. I am a new user whose been on the wiki for nearly a day now. Do I have to ask permission to create a template? I want to suggest a Mario Party Advance quest infobox on the quest pages.

Kloak and Kackle
In your point of view, Kloak and Kackle were old pirate Kremlings before Kremling Krew? Here many profiles.

: 07:02, September 1, 2020 (EDT)
*Gloomy Gulch in instruction booklet (page 30): "This spooky area is also haunted by the evil Kremling spirits known as Kloak and Kackle."
*Gloomy Gulch in Player's guide (page 20): "Don't count on meeting another living soul in this dilapidated ghost town, where even the ropes fade in and out of existence like phantoms."
*Web Woods in German player's guide (page 84): ""
*Nintendo Power vol. 76 (page 26): "Keep a watch out for Klobber when he's barreling ahead and the Ghost Pirate who haunts the forest shadows."

ThatGuy777
I had no idea :O Thank you for letting me know about that and for creating a subpage for me. I wanted to have a subpage for my signature, but I am still a non-autoconfirmed user which holds me back from creating a page for myself. I changed my preferences for the signature, so this should do the trick. 08:32, November 12, 2023 (EST)

Thank you for telling me what I forgot. I'm a new member of the wiki, and that was my first page.

I kept getting logged out of my edit on Locomotionless, I was going to add the Japanese name for the quest and it treats me like I have not logged in. Does it have to do with the page being autoconfirmed locked? 09:42, November 16, 2023 (EST)

RPG lists question.
"Dream?"
So, I'm back, again. New RPG, new list to create. Anyways, I'll stick to the point: Since the page for ? Blocks in Origami King is so thorough and includes EVERY SINGLE ONE, I thought: Why some pages should have only hidden blocks and this one has all. I am aware that TOK as ingame counter for them, but so does the 3DS Mario and Luigi titles and only SS has the page for the hidden ones. So, I propose these two scenarios:

I think it was Dream. I could be wrong, because I was watching a YT vid about it. (I think it's a legit game. I'll rewatch it, and tell you later.) 23:54, September 1, 2020 (EDT)
Add non-hidden ? Blocks to the respective pages and then rename the pages and create the pages for the games that does not have them, such as PIT. And do it for every single RPG.
:Actually, it's fanmade. 16:06, September 2, 2020 (EDT)
::Wait... does this mean it's fanmade? (also I'm so glad you didn't archive this) 20:54, September 3, 2020 (EDT)
:::It's actually STEAM, not Dream. 20:55, September 3, 2020 (EDT)

"Meta category" visibility
Same as above but only in the games that have the ? Block counter in them, such as 3DS ML games mentioned above.

I thought it was a weird glitch on my end at first, but something peculiar I've noticed recently is that "meta categories" are no longer visible when I'm signed off. I can understand maybe hiding something like the merge and split templates from casual readers since those are really meant between editors, but I don't know why the another language and conjecture templates are hidden from view unless you are signed on. I think it's useful to have those visible at all times, especially since we tend to not cite in-game references and thus readers can easily mistake a conjectural title for an in-game name, and while it didn't stop Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia, I was optimistic that future writers will learn not to follow that example, which defeats the purpose of some of our criticism if those templates are now hidden. Additionally, not everyone browses the site signed on unless they're ready to edit, so these details can now be missed. Why was this change made, and can it be reconsidered? LinkTheLefty (talk) 23:03, September 4, 2020 (EDT)
I really think this would be a good idea, but I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this. Even if you think I should not do it, tell me, so I won't ask in the future again.
:Thanks. The another language and conjecture templates show up for me again logged off. Are the "proposal templates" (merge to/from, split, rename, and notice) going to stay hidden? That seems like something that should have been openly discussed first, unless that's also part of the error. LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:29, September 5, 2020 (EDT)
::Why not keep at least keep the meta categories visibly listed at the bottom of the articles with or below the main categories, where they're unobtrusive to casual readers but still noticeable to other editors who are signed out? LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:10, September 6, 2020 (EDT)
:::Would a proposal to restore partial (category only) or full (entire template) visibility be vetoed by admins? I feel a change like this should have had user consensus first, and for me at least, having pages change depending on whether you're signed in or out is confusing and not very intuitive. == About the 3D All-Stars Reused Artwork ==
Anyways, that is all. --Mid188 (talk) 16:45, November 17, 2023 (EST)

I understand that for most of these, they're just the same artwork but at a lower resolution. However, would it not be good to at least have Bee Mario art with a transparent background? I mean, we have black-BG and transparent-BG versions of the Dark Moon art for King Boo and E. Gadd. As well, a bunch of these artwork have a little bit of shadow outlining around the character, yet we still have shadowed and shadowless versions of artwork, in particular, Rosalina's art from Smash 4. I don't think all of the reused art needs to be uploaded, but I don't think that warrants dismissing all of them at once. (Unless there's some kind of Wiki policy that I haven't read.) Okay, this is what I'll do: I will screenshot the location, then crop it to remove the black bars and then change it to 1920x1080, that seems like the best option. I saw the word of in the name of a church, the name is:
Hi, I'm back. Completed PM64 and already did the list(s) in my sandbox. You can check for anything if you want, afterwards I would upload the images and make the page(s). Onto the original Superstar Saga.--Mid188 (talk) 17:04, December 3, 2023 (EST)
Universal Church of the Kingdon of God

Why is of used in this case?
Hi. So. I just finished original Bowser's Inside Story and there are quite a lot of types of blocks, namely ? Block, Attack Piece Block, Brick Block, Special ? Block, Rally Block, Empty Block,  M-Block, L-Block, Body Slam Panel, Puzzle Sack Block and ! Block., so I kind of have series of questions:
*Special ? Block - 2 in Pump Works and 1 in Energy Hold, these ? Blocks when struck create a collumn of 5 M/L Blocks in a pattern, which then must be repeated by striking subsequent 5 ? Blocks. Since they are different from normal ? Blocks, I would like to know if we have page for this type of block so I can use it when making the list? I vaguely remember it reappearing in Paper Jam, with P Blocks added to the mix.
*M/L/! Blocks - 1 M in Energy Hold, 2 L in Pump Works and Energy Hold, ! in Plack Beach Cliff. I grouped them together since they serve the same purpose. When struck, they turn on the coins around them. Should I include them in the list even though they're technically switches? But then these four are the only "switches" that give you a reward, like a ? Block. So you can see the dilemma here.
*Body Slam Panel - In Blubble Lake, Bowser Path and Peach's Castle. They also give out rewards when struck, just like ? Blocks But due to their low number, which would be better: Include them in the list or make a section in the Body Slam page?
*Empty Block - Ten in Toad Town Mall. Only in the Mushroom Ball sidequest. Add to the list and to the Mushroom Ball page or just the MB page? I know there already are some images, but I will include new ones in preparation for when I'll play the remake. (requested by Swallow)
*Puzzle Sack Block - Same as MB - On the list and page or just the page? Here I would only edit the existing images and also to prepare it for the remake.
*As for the rest, they will be added by default, so no questions for them.
Thank you for the upcoming answers, I will start with the list tommorow with your instructions. --Mid188 (talk) 09:38, January 25, 2024 (EST)

The word of in English balances the words de, da and do in the Portuguese language, these 3 words are always used - Yoshiman2 (talk) 15:04, September 16, 2020 (EDT)
Ok, thank you for your input. I will get to it shortly.--Mid188 (talk) 07:40, January 26, 2024 (EST)
:It is simple: it shows whom things it is. For example, if you are in the car that belongs to your dad, you may say:
*I am in my dad's car.
*I am in the car of my dad.
It means exactly the same thing, but the s is more often used becasue of a more comprehensive aspect. 05:04, January 11, 2021 (EST)

Know-It-All Toads?
Hi, so after little setback I started playing Sticker Star and I have a question: Since Sticker Star is the only two-screen game without any sort of minimap, should I just screenshot the non-album screen or should I keep doing it normally (two screens next to each other, like literally every other page with NDS/3DS games)? Also, there is a type of block called Paperization Block (block which appears after using Paperize and placing a sticker). Should I include them in the ? Block page or Hidden Block page?--Mid188 (talk) 15:34, February 3, 2024 (EST)

Okey dokey, will do. --Mid188 (talk) 08:48, February 5, 2024 (EST)

So we already have an article on the singular Know-it-All Toad in Paper Mario: Color Splash, right? Here's the thing, though: there's an entire group of individuals known collectively by the same name in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. So should the individuals in Paper Jam be known as Know-It-All Toads (group)? Or should something else be put in place? 10:24, September 18, 2020 (EDT)
So, I am almost done with Sticker Star (like 97%), I just have one question: Since I was doing pictures for the paperization blocks/objects in the levels, should I also do pictures for the paperization in the Sticker Museum?--Mid188 (talk) 06:44, February 12, 2024 (EST)

Luigi Beta Voice Clips
How I know Keeping Count can go up to 99
Hello, I see you removed my edit about Luigi’s beta voice clips that were part of the “Nintendo Gigaleak” on July 25, 2020. Are you aware about this “Nintendo Gigaleak” that happened on that date? A lot of unused content from games such as this and Mario World have been leaked in the games files? I know up keep removing this edit but I think we should put Luigi’s unused voice clips from SM64 that were leaked. Why can’t we put in on there? We already have Toadsworth’s unused voice clips for MP8 so why not Luigi’s? Please let me know ASAP Thanks
I used a massage gun on my finger to make it repeatedly press the R button on my right Joy-Con without breaking the button, and so, it successfully and rapidly went all the way up to 99. — GonzalezGamingFan

Could you add a rule to MarioWiki: Proposals stating something about tagging pages with proposal notice after making a proposal about them? 00:24, September 24, 2020 (EDT)
You retitled the 3D Hot Rally album article "3D Hot Rally (soundtrack)." == MKT tier proposal ==
And one more thing, I already gave the same Twitter to the two designers involved in Returns, if the answer is that animation of that guy saying yes and you say which is for indulge me, then it's already mockery.
Is it possible now to add more options to my ongoing proposal about Mario Kart Tour tiers based on Mister Wu's findings? If yes, should the proposal's deadline be extended and by how much? 16:11, October 12, 2020 (EDT)
ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 22:20, December 11, 2023 (EST)
:It is fairly probable that users might have still voted for the first option even if those more official terms were to be presented in the proposal. From what I understand, there is no bottom tier indicator to go along with the "favoured / favourite" pair, which is frankly a little confusing in itself and mostly refers to the courses themselves anyway, not drivers or karts; the "Normal/Good/More Good" triplet (or its more grammatically correct counterpart, "Normal/Good/Better") is also flawed since "Normal" might be confused for the rarity classification of the same name. It would have been ideal to have those in the proposal since they're official, and I recognise that I should have asked Mister Wu for research first, but again, I think most users find little reason not to use the already highly-supported option. What do you think? 08:32, October 13, 2020 (EDT)

Back Space
Mario Party Superstars Medley
Hi, back again with yet another naming question. See, I intend to start a proposal to split two types of Mario Party spaces: the ones that send the player a fixed number of spaces in either direction, and the ones that require the player to roll a Dice Block in order to move in the given direction. Since both space variants that send the player backwards are known as "Back Spaces" in Mario Party 10, I'd like to know what custom identifiers to use in this case. (Note that in the case of moving forwards, the ones with a fixed number of spaces are known as "Advance Spaces" whereas the ones requiring a dice roll are known as "Dash Spaces", so there's no problem in that case.) 18:58, October 20, 2020 (EDT)
It's a bit tricky on what to call it. What plays in Tetris 99 is the arrangements of the title screen themes from the first three Mario Party games. In Mario Party Superstars, they're titled "Mario Party Superstars" with only (Mario Party), (Mario Party 2), and (Mario Party 3) to differentiate them. I settled with "Mario Party Superstars" Medley since anything else felt too long. Hey there. I have a question:
To respond to your message
I do agree that there's been a lack of communication with the changes I'm making to articles. I think I just assumed proposals are mostly for deciding whether to create or delete stuff on the wiki. On sidenote, I think disagreements on articles (mainly if they're not part of a "set" like Mario Kart courses, Super Mario levels) are too vague and lack substance to form a proposal out of.

The Mollusque-Lanceur article states that Mollusque-Lanceur is a Gushen. Is there any source that specifically says that?  CBFan5 (talk)
As for the tabber template, both cases approved by the system are comparing screenshots each showing a different iterations of something between appearances. I'm not the only one who has been doing this: if you also take a look at the Mario 64 courses, I didn't add tabber to those. The Mario Party and Mario Kart set a precedent for similar cases: if Mario party minigames can use tabber, why not WarioWare microgames too? those are minigames that have returned in later WarioWare games in very similar manner to Mario Party minigames. From what I've heard, there's a solution in place for if JavaScript doesn't work, though over time, I've both felt and realized that such circumstances would call for captioning the images to preserve the context of the images.
:See the names in other languages section. 17:53, October 22, 2020 (EDT)

Castles/Forts in the :Category: Volcanic Areas
For show/hide, I personally love clicking between tabs and collapsible content, especially if it's collapsing an element than might clash with prose (e.g. bloated wikitables or galleries). I'm also not the only person to have been doing this, as I saw someone add to a section on the e-Reader article, which has a bloated wikitable.

Why are castles included in the list? They are not volcanic. Even though they are full of lava, they do not have some "volcanic" elements, such as rising lava (there are a few exceptions), lava geysers, and poison fog. CBFan5 (talk)
The Luigi's Mansion room pages have this one 3DS image on the side that squishes the opening text, making it harder to read, which is why I added tabber on the Luigi's Mansion room pages. I try to reduce redundant headings, which can include a gallery section if it has only one image, or sections with only one or two sentences.

SMS Minor Locations
For Cranky's Lab, other articles don't have a "Potions" heading, so I tried imagining a way to make it look consistent with other shop pages. Perhaps Inventory is an ideal heading for shop locations.

Hello, I was wondering if you feel defined locations for areas in Super Mario Sunshine, if connected to a mission or contain the mission, would justify their own articles? Those are currently redirects to the actual missions featuring those locations. This would be similar to Casino Delfino or Windswept Valley, and of course, this would only apply to minor locations with a purpose and official title. Would you consider this? 18:37, October 23, 2020 (EDT)
Lastly, even in wake of the disagreements, others did agree to me turning the enemy/item count on the level pages into gallery form, and that's the only change I made to some of the Super Mario level pages. It is possible to defeat the same Lakitu twice in Super Mario Bros. World 8-2. The first Lakitu begins its retreat near a bunch of brick blocks high in the air, which are hiding a secret One-Up. If you cross this threshold, the Lakitu begins its retreat like normal. If you platform on top of these bricks, you can defeat the Lakitu easily. But, if you move Mario past the threshold, the Lakitu wakes back to life on a lower yPosition, and retreats like nothing happened. If you are very quick about it, you can defeat the same Lakitu a second time. This is a very unusual bug. Here is a demonstration!

Figure-8 Circuit in Smash
The previously unknown item in Super Mario Bros.

I want to talk to you about... well, the subject matter. First off, I can see you disagree but I think the most important thing is that it literally, outright says "Eight Cross Circuit." Also, it's translated as such on the article for the MKDS course, so leaving it as "Figure-8 Circuit" is, in my opinion, both inaccurate and inconsistent. 94.10.30.69
A notable glitch in Super Mario Bros. is that two items cannot be rendered at the same time on the screen.

An implication of this is that the Beanstalk / Vine also needs to be included as one of the Items in the Super Mario Bros. article.

I will prove this to you by showing that a vine cannot be rendered at the same time as an item. It is easy to make an item disappear because of a vine. But can you make a vine disappear because of an item?

Favored phrasing? (Part II)
In Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels World 3-1, you can do just that! Consider the close proximity of the vine block and mushroom block. Here's a gif but you can also try it out for yourself. First hit the beanstalk box, then hit the mushroom box. The beanstalk will disappear because the game treats it like an item. Hopefully this is proof enough that Beanstalks should be considered an item along with the rest. (If it's not enough evidence, then this needs to be added as a completely new glitch in Super Mario Bros.)

Hey there! I'm in the process of adding availabilities and making the writing consistent between articles on Mario Kart Tour karts. One difficulty that I've come across is finding the least confusing way in which a kart's special skill can be explained. The in-game descriptions are too succinct (Increases [Technique] boost time and points earned for performing one.) and I think it's our job to expand a bit on the phrasing and make it clearer. Here are some phrasing options; I would like to know which one do you think is best, or if you have better alternatives:
A small disclaimer: I found both of these bugs on the Nintendo Switch emulation of the games. I am confident they appear on the regular NES and Arcade versions of Super Mario Bros. but it would need to be double checked obviously.
#Boosts last longer and yield more points than usual when using this kart. -- Puts too much focus on the "boosts" rather than on the main subject (the kart).
#When this kart is used, boosts last longer and yield more points than usual. -- Better than the previous, though it still implies that the kart is unusual. Stating that the kart "increases boost duration and points" would put it on the same level as other karts with the same special skill.
#This kart increases the duration of boosts and the points earned for performing one. -- Do we get points from the duration or the boosts? I know that the former wouldn't make sense logically, but at a first glance it might be a tad too difficult to read between the lines.
#This kart increases boost time/duration and points earned for performing one. -- Not only is this a confusing rearrangement of the previous phrasing (where "one" could syntactically refer to either "time" or "boost"), but it's also a mere reflection of the in-game text.
#This kart increases boost time/duration and points. -- Bit too short innit?

One last note, does the list of glitches contain the one where you fall directly on top of a vine or the flagpole? For some reason I can't find it in the list, I thought that was a rather popular one.
::One more thing. Should we say, "Jump Boost boosts"? It sounds repetitive, but it's the game's own phrasing, as if it differentiates the Jump Boost action from the actual speed boost that results from driving over ramps. 18:26, November 30, 2020 (EST)

Okay, yet another naming question. So there are two types of Pokeys: the prominent kind debuting in Super Mario Bros. 2, and the not-so-prominent Needlenose varieties that have been around since Yoshi's Island. The problem is that the current title for the latter variety of Pokey is Pokey (Yoshi's Island series), which isn't a suitable identifier since both types of Pokeys appear in Yoshi's New Island (they even appear in the exact same level, Underground Pokey Patrol). Given this, what would be a more suitable identifier for the article in question? Given that the Japanese transliteration for the latter variety of Pokey is "Heading Sanbo", would Pokey (heading) work? 22:50, December 6, 2020 (EST)

The cards needed to play minigames at the Pianta Parlor in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door — the Special Card, the Silver Card, the Gold Card, and the Platinum Card — are collectively called Member's Cards. The name appears four times in the game:

* An unnamed Goomba in Pianta Parlor: "Whuzzat, now? You wanna know how to get a <u>Member's Card</u>, do ya?"
* Wonky: "If you want to try it, you'll have to find a <u>Member's Card</u> somewhere..."

I'm sorry
What should we do?
* Do not cover the name.
* Create a page for the name, using the singular form. This would make the page hard to categorize. For example, if we put it in :Category:Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door special items, it would appear to be another special item rather than a collective name.
* Create a page for the name, using the plural form. This doesn't seem to be wiki practice, and the plural form is unattested in the game.
* Redirect the name to Pianta Parlor. Seems to be a good idea, but this would make Pianta Parlor a two-subject page, possibly with two bolded names in the introductory part.

The inconsistency in their names is due to historical reasons. These pages were really about characters not covered on the wiki, which, due to SMW:NPC, are the minor (unimportant to storyline), unnamed NPCs. I initially went with "List of Minor NPCs …" because it was the only capitalized term at the time, which means I had to mention the minor-but-named characters, duplicating info available elsewhere on the wiki. I didn't use it for Super Paper Mario because the number of minor-but-named characters far outweighs the minor-but-unnamed ones in that game. Since the term was later decapitalized, would it be a good idea to change all three pages to "unnamed NPCs", for consistency? --Dine2017 (talk) 22:03, February 5, 2024 (EST)

That user changed a correct information with something of his own fantasy. Correct name is actually Stadio Mario Kart. Duraner Hawkeye (talk) 07:13, January 7, 2021 (EST)
Another thing: how should we handle the naming of levels from the Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake? Since, as you know, two new worlds were added in (meaning, say, Level 6-4 is now Level 8-4), we'll no doubt have to do a massive series of page moves, but should the identifier stay the same for the moved pages? 19:58, February 24, 2024 (EST)

I have a question about the number of signatures you can have.
Hi there! Several times, you and Alex95 reminded me that I must not convert jpgs to pngs as this will result into a quality loss. However, I have seen a lot of people doing so without any changes and warning, including so on high traffic pages such as the Super Mario 64 page and the Baby Yoshi page. Some examples I have found include (I think):<br>
Hi! I have a small question about signatures. In MarioWiki:Signatures, one of the rules states that "Some users also change their sigs during certain holidays. Though allowed, these sigs must also conform to all previous rules, and it is suggested to only do this a couple of times a year at most." However, I can't help but notice that a lot of users have multiple signatures that are used throughout the year, which technically breaks this rule. I was wondering what this rule's logistics are; is it just a suggestion, a hard rule, or something in between? Hi there. Recently, I added a lot of Pink Yoshi sprites and all, but you deleted them, saying they were unused. This is not the case, as I am doing a Pink Yoshi gallery I had almost finished. == Umm… yeah, about that sock puppet thing…==
Hello, Mario JC! I would just like to mention that earlier you might recall blocking me and some other “Sockpuppet” of me. Well, I just would like to mention that… um, that sockpuppet was my best friend! He created an account around the same time as I did, and he showed me that he was BLOOCKED INDEFINITELY! Now, I have NO CLUE how our IP’s got mixed up (Probably due to how we use MarioWiki during free time at school) but either way you blocked him accidentally. And I know exactly that HE is the sockpuppet because he was blocked by you, too, and that we were blocked at the same time. Could you please unblock him? If you don’t trust me, that’s fine but at least tell me and I’ll prove how it’s true.

Also, I wanted to ask you if it is interesting to create pages for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Furys new ennemies, allies and collectibles. I am afraid it is not considering we do not have too much information, and the articles would have conjectural names, but I have one article which could be useful as we have a bit of information and have a conjectural name that has some great chances of being used afterwards. So, is it worth it? 05:35, January 13, 2021 (EST)
Hey, JC, I wanna say thanks for unblocking my friend.

:My new page would be about the cats seen here that also become devil-like during the Bowser boss fight.

Okay, Mario JC. For once, you're right. But this isn't my first time joining in this wiki anymore, all I ever do is to edit everything correctly, but I actually don't? How? You might I'm annoying, but how the heck was I suppossed know I edited something bad? I'm not like an 8-year old child. I'm tired of being not cool and serious. Tell me how I should be a non-annoying editer. So I can get personal at all.

I have really low hopes here, but do you think it's safe to say that this level title may be a reference to the title of Can We Fix It?? Hello! Out of curiosity, I have a question regarding game-specific templates if it's a case-by-case basis, thinking about how SMB3 wouldn't be included in the level articles, but for example DKC is present in the level articles of the game. But that maybe is a relic from the merge?

I made this proposal recently. I thought all was well and that my reasoning was correct until I noticed something on the Radiant Peach page. There is a currently-unmade page titled Sparkla Spirit that I think may be exactly what Stella was referring to in the quote that I based my proposal evidence around. If this is the case, it would mean that I'd have to change and/or delete my proposal as it would not be needed. However, I have not made it to the part of the game where the Sparkla Spirit(s) are directly mentioned, so I don't know what to do. Can you please help me figure this out by reading my proposal and getting back to me on whether it's necessary for me to keep it up? If you haven't played Princess Peach: Showtime! enough to help me, can you please point me to someone who you know has played through the game enough to verify my proposal evidence and/or could help me take my next steps? I'm questioning about our current practice of piping links to avoid redirects. Someone asked exactly why we do this, and I thought about reasons but they didn't really connect well. Wikipedia has a rundown on why linking to redirects on articles is actually good practice (and probably better than piping), and the reasons here seem solid. I know we're not Wikipedia, but it's hard to argue against the reasoning itself. 20:46, May 22, 2024 (EDT)

About Super Mario 64 DS
:I mean, the same thing about there being "nothing wrong with it" can be said about actively fixing links to redirects too. And it's unlikely there'll be a Mario-centric subject named "Sonic" that's just as let alone more prominent than Sonic the Hedgehog that will take over that article title (going by that first "reason not to bypass"), and we use piped links for a lot of text already where it's necessary (second reason). I assume Porple had a reason for establishing the rule (I always assumed it was a technical reason) so maybe ask him. 11:23, May 25, 2024 (EDT)

secret codes[edit]

Doubts[edit]

Kloak and Kackle[edit]

In your point of view, Kloak and Kackle were old pirate Kremlings before Kremling Krew? Here many profiles.

 • Gloomy Gulch in instruction booklet (page 30): "This spooky area is also haunted by the evil Kremling spirits known as Kloak and Kackle."
 • Gloomy Gulch in Player's guide (page 20): "Don't count on meeting another living soul in this dilapidated ghost town, where even the ropes fade in and out of existence like phantoms."
 • Web Woods in German player's guide (page 84): "Dieser schrecklich düstere Wald wird sogar von den Kremlingpiraten gemieden."
 • Nintendo Power vol. 76 (page 26): "Keep a watch out for Klobber when he's barreling ahead and the Ghost Pirate who haunts the forest shadows."

Re: Signature[edit]

I had no idea :O Thank you for letting me know about that and for creating a subpage for me. I wanted to have a subpage for my signature, but I am still a non-autoconfirmed user which holds me back from creating a page for myself. I changed my preferences for the signature, so this should do the trick. Derekblue1(talk)Daisy Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga-styled sprite 08:32, November 12, 2023 (EST)

Glitch?[edit]

I kept getting logged out of my edit on Locomotionless, I was going to add the Japanese name for the quest and it treats me like I have not logged in. Does it have to do with the page being autoconfirmed locked? Derekblue1(talk)Daisy Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga-styled sprite 09:42, November 16, 2023 (EST)

Oh, I think I figured out. That it keeps logging me out because of that video link I put on references. When I excluded it, it went fine. Derekblue1(talk)Daisy Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga-styled sprite 09:46, November 16, 2023 (EST)

RPG lists question.[edit]

So, I'm back, again. New RPG, new list to create. Anyways, I'll stick to the point: Since the page for ? Blocks in Origami King is so thorough and includes EVERY SINGLE ONE, I thought: Why some pages should have only hidden blocks and this one has all. I am aware that TOK as ingame counter for them, but so does the 3DS Mario and Luigi titles and only SS has the page for the hidden ones. So, I propose these two scenarios:

Add non-hidden ? Blocks to the respective pages and then rename the pages and create the pages for the games that does not have them, such as PIT. And do it for every single RPG.

OR

Same as above but only in the games that have the ? Block counter in them, such as 3DS ML games mentioned above.

I really think this would be a good idea, but I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this. Even if you think I should not do it, tell me, so I won't ask in the future again.

Anyways, that is all. --Mid188 (talk) 16:45, November 17, 2023 (EST)

Okay, I'm going to go ahead with scenario 1, starting with the original SMRPG. Will keep you posted after every game. --Mid188 (talk) 22:04, November 17, 2023 (EST)

Okay, I have a request: Could you look at my Sandbox and tell me which of the two images do you prefer? Then delete both, I will upload all at once after I'm done with the game.--Mid188 (talk) 20:17, November 18, 2023 (EST)

Okay, this is what I'll do: I will screenshot the location, then crop it to remove the black bars and then change it to 1920x1080, that seems like the best option. So, please remove the File:Mushroom Way Treasure 1 (Cropped).png page, it's not needed anymore. Thank you and I'll make myself known after completing the game. --Mid188 (talk) 20:48, November 18, 2023 (EST)

I'm sorry, I just thought the bigger one would be better. I will use the small ones then. Thank you for your input.--Mid188 (talk) 20:54, November 18, 2023 (EST)

Okay, will do as you say and correct the mistake. Thank you for stopping me before I got really far. --Mid188 (talk) 08:16, November 24, 2023 (EST)

Ok, I am almost done, you can check if there's anything to correct before transfering it to the page. --Mid188 (talk) 10:47, November 24, 2023 (EST)

Oh okay, so do you want separate pages or separate sections on 1 page?--Mid188 (talk) 07:10, November 25, 2023 (EST)

Something like this?--Mid188 (talk) 07:54, November 25, 2023 (EST)

Hi, I'm back. Completed PM64 and already did the list(s) in my sandbox. You can check for anything if you want, afterwards I would upload the images and make the page(s). Onto the original Superstar Saga.--Mid188 (talk) 17:04, December 3, 2023 (EST)

Hi.

 • Special ? Block - 2 in Pump Works and 1 in Energy Hold, these ? Blocks when struck create a collumn of 5 M/L Blocks in a pattern, which then must be repeated by striking subsequent 5 ? Blocks. Since they are different from normal ? Blocks, I would like to know if we have page for this type of block so I can use it when making the list? I vaguely remember it reappearing in Paper Jam, with P Blocks added to the mix.
 • Body Slam Panel - In Blubble Lake, Bowser Path and Peach's Castle. They also give out rewards when struck, just like ? Blocks But due to their low number, which would be better: Include them in the list or make a section in the Body Slam page?
 • Empty Block - Ten in Toad Town Mall. Only in the Mushroom Ball sidequest. Add to the list and to the Mushroom Ball page or just the MB page? I know there already are some images, but I will include new ones in preparation for when I'll play the remake. (requested by Swallow)
 • Puzzle Sack Block - Same as MB - On the list and page or just the page? Here I would only edit the existing images and also to prepare it for the remake.
 • As for the rest, they will be added by default, so no questions for them.

Thank you for the upcoming answers, I will start with the list tommorow with your instructions. --Mid188 (talk) 09:38, January 25, 2024 (EST)

Ok, thank you for your input. I will get to it shortly.--Mid188 (talk) 07:40, January 26, 2024 (EST)

3D Hot Rally album article title[edit]

You retitled the 3D Hot Rally album article "3D Hot Rally (soundtrack)." I think it should be titled "3D Hot Rally (album)" to be consistent with other similar article titles, such as Super Mario World (album) and Super Mario Land (album). I completely forgot to add my SM64DS proposal (look at Talk:Super Mario 64 DS for more) to MarioWiki:Proposals, nor add the required templates to either page until two days prior to its deadline. Does this warrant an extension, or will it still expire in two days, despite my mistake? Please let me know so my proposal can get settled. Additionally, I cannot further edit my proposal (unless the deadline is extended) to say this, but I have a full version of the chart in User:Altendo/sandbox#Castle Secret Stars that will be implemented if the proposal succeeds. Only you for tell me that. Even though he wasn't involved in Returns, for me it's enough evidence (as the "likes" in doubts). Some wiki sites accept that.

And one more thing, I already gave the same Twitter to the two designers involved in Returns, if the answer is that animation of that guy saying yes and you say which is for indulge me, then it's already mockery. ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 22:20, December 11, 2023 (EST)

Asking[edit]

Hi, i want to ask if we are able to have articles on the wiki that are listed here.

 • Cookie Jar Group
 • WildBrain
 • WildBrain Spark
 • Netflix
 • YouTube
 • Hulu
 • Amazon Prime Video (formerly Amazon Instant Video)
 • NCircle TV
 • Jaroo
 • WildBrainTV

I don't know if i'll do the other streaming services if you want me to do that or just stick to the ones i've listed here.

I would include Netflix, YouTube, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video since they were available on Nintendo platforms.

Mario Party Superstars Medley[edit]

It's a bit tricky on what to call it. What plays in Tetris 99 is the arrangements of the title screen themes from the first three Mario Party games. In Mario Party Superstars, they're titled "Mario Party Superstars" with only (Mario Party), (Mario Party 2), and (Mario Party 3) to differentiate them. Idea[edit]

Hi, There's a idea that i didn't think about earlier, is that i could do categories for each streaming service and put the shows and movies that are on these services into them or do a streaming/digital category. MarioKartFan4863927 (talk) 12:52, January 3, 2024 (GMT)

To respond to your message[edit]

I do agree that there's been a lack of communication with the changes I'm making to articles. I think I just assumed proposals are mostly for deciding whether to create or delete stuff on the wiki. On sidenote, I think disagreements on articles (mainly if they're not part of a "set" like Mario Kart courses, Super Mario levels) are too vague and lack substance to form a proposal out of.

For Cranky's Lab, other articles don't have a "Potions" heading, so I tried imagining a way to make it look consistent with other shop pages. Perhaps Inventory is an ideal heading for shop locations.

Lastly, even in wake of the disagreements, others did agree to me turning the enemy/item count on the level pages into gallery form, and that's the only change I made to some of the Super Mario level pages. Super Game Gear (talk) 09:51, January 4, 2024 (EST)

A new glitch and a previously unknown item in Super Mario Bros.[edit]

Hi there! I have some potential edits for some Protected Pages that you might be interested in.

The newly discovered glitch in Super Mario Bros.

The previously unknown item in Super Mario Bros.

A notable glitch in Super Mario Bros. is that two items cannot be rendered at the same time on the screen.

An implication of this is that the Beanstalk / Vine also needs to be included as one of the Items in the Super Mario Bros. article.

This is because the game considers Beanstalks to be an item.

I will prove this to you by showing that a vine cannot be rendered at the same time as an item. It is easy to make an item disappear because of a vine. But can you make a vine disappear because of an item?

In Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels World 3-1, you can do just that! Consider the close proximity of the vine block and mushroom block. Here's a gif but you can also try it out for yourself. First hit the beanstalk box, then hit the mushroom box. The beanstalk will disappear because the game treats it like an item. Hopefully this is proof enough that Beanstalks should be considered an item along with the rest. (If it's not enough evidence, then this needs to be added as a completely new glitch in Super Mario Bros.)

A small disclaimer: I found both of these bugs on the Nintendo Switch emulation of the games. I am confident they appear on the regular NES and Arcade versions of Super Mario Bros. but it would need to be double checked obviously.

I am fascinated with glitches, and I hope these can be added to the notoriously short List of Super Mario Bros. glitches. Thank you!

One last note, does the list of glitches contain the one where you fall directly on top of a vine or the flagpole? For some reason I can't find it in the list, I thought that was a rather popular one.

An uncovered collective name[edit]

The cards needed to play minigames at the Pianta Parlor in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door — the Special Card, the Silver Card, the Gold Card, and the Platinum Card — are collectively called Member's Cards. The name appears four times in the game:

 • Lahla: "Oh! Mario! That card! You got a Member's Card! OK. I'll prepare the mini-game you can play with that Member's Card. How exciting!"
 • An unnamed Goomba in Pianta Parlor: "Whuzzat, now? You wanna know how to get a Member's Card, do ya?"
 • Wonky: "If you want to try it, you'll have to find a Member's Card somewhere..."

What should we do?

 • Do not cover the name.
 • Create a page for the name, using the singular form. This would make the page hard to categorize. For example, if we put it in Category:Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door special items, it would appear to be another special item rather than a collective name.
 • Create a page for the name, using the plural form. This doesn't seem to be wiki practice, and the plural form is unattested in the game.
 • Redirect the name to Pianta Parlor. Seems to be a good idea, but this would make Pianta Parlor a two-subject page, possibly with two bolded names in the introductory part.

"Minor NPC"[edit]

Currently we have the following three pages:

Question about the Hammer theme[edit]

I was listening to the supposedly rearranged version of the Hammer Theme in Mario vs. Donkey Kong for Switch. Mario vs. Donkey Kong level identifiers[edit]

I have a question about the number of signatures you can have.[edit]

Hello! Out of curiosity, I have a question regarding game-specific templates if it's a case-by-case basis, thinking about how SMB3 wouldn't be included in the level articles, but for example DKC is present in the level articles of the game. But that maybe is a relic from the merge?

Game-specific templates
...These auxiliary game-specific templates only need to go on the articles of subjects that concern them (e.g. the NSMB2 level articles) and the game page itself. Like the main game-specific templates, auxiliary templates are color-coded based on series.

I assumed that the main template should be included in all articles related to the game, but that auxiliary level templates should only be present in the main article and level articles. Or should this question be taken else where? Kind regards Nikenpelle (talk|sandbox) 11:41, March 23, 2024 (EDT)

Proposal cleaned up[edit]

I cleaned up my proposal by adding the <pre> tags. You should take a look at what the template will look like from above. What do you think how my proposal looks? GuntherBayBeee.jpgGuntherBayBeeeGravity Rush Kat.png 21:18, March 30, 2024 (EDT)

Edit warring on the Easter egg page[edit]

What did I do wrong (you wrote this in your message: This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (edit warring) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site. If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.)? I didn't even "edit warring"! I don't even know what "edit warring" means! (Posted by Bwario).

I'm not a staff member, but edit warring is when multiple users constantly undo each other's edits on a page. You've been adding cameos on the "Easter Eggs" page when they are not actually Easter Eggs, and thus were in an edit war with Nightwicked Bowser. Please listen to his advice. link:User:Sparks Sparks (talk) link:User:Sparks 13:33, April 3, 2024 (EDT)
Why not them Easter eggs? (Posted by Bwario).
Easter Eggs you'd generally have to go out of your way to find. Most of the NDC references are proudly displayed and can be seen with no effort. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:52, April 3, 2024 (EDT)
Here's what I had to do to find all these Donkey Kong related things in Super Mario Odyssey and collecting things related to Donkey Kong in Super Mario Odyssey for the Easter egg page was also difficult... Although it is true that it is more of a reference to another game, but they were hidden. (Posted by Bwario, 8:17, April 4, 2024) (EDT).
I think Bwario is right, the Donkey Kong stuff is really Easter Eggs. 89.134.27.123 10:06, May 6, 2024 (EDT)

I've got a question about a proposal that I made.[edit]

Hello! I was wondering if you've played Princess Peach: Showtime enough to help me out with something. (If you're thinking of voting on the proposal in question, please don't do so until I figure out what to do!!) Update: I have temporarily cancelled the proposal until I figure out what a Sparkla Spirit is. I may reinstate the proposal later if I can still go through with it. I need a page deleted.[edit]

Hello! I uploaded a MP4 media file recently that I meant to use as a video clip. However, it was uploaded as an audio file and not a video file. I then converted it to a GIF and attempted to upload a new version of the file, only for the wiki to stop me with an error message. I would like for the file that I uploaded (and its corresponding page) to be deleted, as the file is useless now that I have it as a GIF. Once the file is deleted, I will upload my GIF file. Please delete the page as soon as possible. The page is File:PPS Transformation Cutscene.mp4. I already contacted Mario (talk) about this, but I have gotten no response. I am sending a nearly identical message to Nightwicked Bowser (talk) because I want this done as soon as possible. Thank you so, so much! -- Artwork of Rosalina used in Mario Party: The Top 100, Mario Kart Tour and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Minor error on coverage policy[edit]

Hi, in the "Package deals" section of MarioWiki:Coverage, would you mind moving the bullet point on Saturday Supercade to the top of the list? I ask this because it's the only bullet point on the list that isn't in its proper chronological order. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 23:24, May 3, 2024 (EDT)

sorry[edit]

Sorry about the Lava Bubble page. I wanted there to be a way to more easily review the information on a per-role basis, rather than just by game, and there doesn't appear to be an efficient solution to accommodating both readers' potential preferences while doing articles. Reference format correction on sentences[edit]

OK, instead of ""(name of something)",<ref>", it goes ""(name of something),"<ref>". Thanks for your correction on writing sentences correctly to me. This what I've been practicing recently, as I'm slowing into writing and formatting sentences and information (through mostly references, real, and my sources when I talk to people online and in real life, for those who work in the Mario franchise).--Ethan Cross Media (talk) 01:12, May 16, 2024 (EDT)

Marking edits as minor[edit]

Hello Mario jc, so we noticed that you are mostly marking edits as minor, even though you are making major changes to pages instead of minor ones. We also noticed that you also mark edits as minor when you are undoing edits by other users, which nobody else has done in the Wiki, you should not mark edits as minor when you are undoing because nobody else does it, the only time you should do minor edits is if you are doing spelling corrections, fixing the capitalization, or fixing the punctuation. Re: TTYD leak files[edit]

Aw, okay. Just for clarification, are they going to be deleted, or should they just be kept off mainspace? I had to upload around 100 and it'd be a pain to do that again. In the meantime, I'll organize the rest of the files I had ready. Scrooge200 (talk) PMCS Mustard Cafe Sign.png 00:32, May 22, 2024 (EDT)

Makes sense. Is adding bits about dialogue changes (see Jerry, Bonetail, Mailbox SP) and spoiling the secret bosses okay? Scrooge200 (talk) PMCS Mustard Cafe Sign.png 02:01, May 22, 2024 (EDT)

Redirects[edit]

I'm questioning about our current practice of piping links to avoid redirects. Someone asked exactly why we do this, and I thought about reasons but they didn't really connect well. Wikipedia has a rundown on why linking to redirects on articles is actually good practice (and probably better than piping), and the reasons here seem solid. I know we're not Wikipedia, but it's hard to argue against the reasoning itself. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 20:46, May 22, 2024 (EDT)

I mean, the same thing about there being "nothing wrong with it" can be said about actively fixing links to redirects too. User page links[edit]

Hello Mario jc, so I noticed that some users user page links are a different colour instead of the default blue or dark blue if you've previously clicked on the link, but how do you change this? About fans wishing about Super Paper Mario for a Nintendo Switch remake[edit]

Hey, dude. Since the original Paper Mario didn't get a remake, but The Thousand-Year Door did... I heard some Paper Mario fans wishing about a Super Paper Mario remake. Do you think it'll happen in a few years? It might sound like superous legendary.

Unito Junito[edit]

Hello Mario jc. Greenpianta was created with my school Gmail, which has since been terminated. My school Gmail was terminated after graduation, so I am not able to access anything that was associated with it before. When making Greenpianta I made the error of not making a new email. So, Unito Junito is a second account, but also effectively my only account.
