The way the information in the Beta Elements pages is organised is currently quite a mess, so I thought of dividing it in standardised categories.

Concepts/Early ideas

For abstract concepts and things that were seriously considered or had concept art drawn during development, but which do not appear to have been actually programmed in the game at any point.

Examples: Diddy Kong's stupid placeholder names during Donkey Kong Country's development, the dev team suggesting that Super Mario Galaxy 2 should feature Pikmin and Donkey Kong cameos

Early Iterations

Proof-of-concept demos and builds of the game that are almost completely different from the final game, but are part of the same development cycle.

Examples: The "Mario Kart for Gamecube" version of Mario Kart: Double Dash, the "Super Mario RPG 2" version of Paper Mario.

Early builds

Stuff that appeared in press kits (videos, screenshots, press releases) and/or convention showings (E3, CES, TGS etc), but which were removed from the final build of the game. Demos and outdated images in the manual also counts as part of this category

If possible, it would be great to separate the information by builds like the Super Mario Galaxy page.

Unused Data

Assets (models, sound files, text) that are present in the data of the final game despite not being used.

Miscellaneous

Anytime a website or magazine write-up reports something that doesn't quite synch up with the final release. Basically, things that reasonably could be considered errors/lies/nonsense on the source's end, but which can't be proven wrong either.

Examples: The UK CD-i magazine presenting a slightly different plot for Hotel Mario, Rareware's online mailbag saying there was going to be a giraffe in Donkey Kong Country (could be a joke at the expense of a fan).
