The Rainbow Road Roll
Template:Missionbox The Rainbow Road Roll is the first mission of Rolling Coaster Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy 2. This mission has a Star Ball gimmick, where players need to roll on it to traverse this level.
Layout
To complete this mission, Mario first needs to get on top of the Star Ball at the starting platform. Then, he has to use it to roll down the various paths and platforms. He must avoid falling off the sides of the paths or running into Bob-ombs, which could possibly cause him to fall off the side. When Mario makes it to the Ending Planet, he finds find a green hole. He must roll the Star Ball into it to release the Power Star.
Green Stars
Green Star 1
The first Green Star is located near the beginning of the level. Mario (or Luigi) should take the Beginner Path instead of the Expert Path. He has to do his best to stay in the middle and to avoid Bob-ombs and Goombas. If done correctly, Mario should have himself rolling up a bumpy slope. Just before Mario drops off the end of the slope, he must use the momentum of the Star Ball and jump into the air, directly into the star. If Mario fails, he can roll right back up (if he's careful), although the incline of the slope can make it rather difficult.
Green Star 2
The last Green Star is near the end of the final rainbow road path, just before the Ending Planet. It is positioned at the right side of the course, hovering in the air. For Mario to reach it, he must either carefully use the momentum of the course to land on the star or jump before reaching the edge. If done correctly, Mario should easily grab the star instead of falling off the course.
