Stanley with his insect repellent.

The insect repellent,[1] also known as the spray gun[2] or sprayer,[3] is Stanley's weapon of choice throughout his scarce appearances, as well as Mr. Game & Watch's primary weapon in the Super Smash Bros. series based on its original appearance in Greenhouse.

Appearances

Greenhouse

In its first appearance, the insect repellent can be sprayed an unlimited number of times. It is used to kill the worms and spiders that try to destroy the Fumigator's flowers before they do so.

Donkey Kong 3

Stanley must use the weapon against Donkey Kong and the angry bees and other insects that will try to destroy his vegetables. Once again it can be sprayed an unlimited number of times.

Donkey Kong 3 (Game & Watch)

In the same fashion as in Donkey Kong 3, Donkey Kong stirs up nests of bugs, so Stanley is required to use his insect repellent to combat Donkey Kong, who now has one of his own. The spray works differently here, as shots trap the bugs and cause them to fly towards the opponent. They have to constantly be refilled with insecticide by a dripping pipe nearby. While refilling the insect repellent, the player will be left defenseless.

Super Smash Bros. series

In the second installment of the series, the insect repellent belongs to Mr. Game & Watch, who uses it as his standard attack. The attack performed by it is called Greenhouse and it deals 1%-3% of damage.[4].

The Greenhouse attack returned for the third game in the series, and continues to be used as a trademark attack.

Game & Watch Gallery 4

In a modern update of the Game & Watch version of Donkey Kong 3, Mario uses the Bug-Spray Gun to push fireballs and Boos towards Donkey Kong. It sprays bubbles and needs to be refilled with water.
