The competitors must cross an obstacle course placed in the sky, trying not to lose their three lives. If the player falls off the course, than they will be brought back up to a random point inside a bubble, but only as long as they have heart points left. Every platform caught at the back of the screen will fall off, along with any player caught on it at the time. The first area contain spinning disk-like platforms. Soon after, the players must cross rotating block formations. Then, they must cross many bouncy clouds and rotating platforms, until they reach the goal, a small, grassy platform with the numbers one through four inscribed upon it. The first player to reach the goal wins.

Template:Minigame-infobox Skyjinks is a Free-for-All minigame in Mario Party 9. The name is a portmanteau of "sky" and "hijinx". This minigame is similar to both Platform Peril from Mario Party and Mario Party 2 and Sick and Twisted from Mario Party 8.

The players are seen jumping on platforms. Landing on wooden boards, the characters stop and the minigame begins.

Gameplay

The competitors must travel in an obstacle course placed in the sky, trying not to lose their three lives. If the player falls off the course, he or she will be placed inside a bubble and brought back up to a random point, only as long as he/she has hearts left. Every platform stepped on at the back of the screen will fall off, along with any player caught on it at the time. The first area contains spinning circular disk platforms. Up ahead are rotating blocks. The final stretch has many bouncy clouds and rotating platforms, and the goal is a small, grassy platform with the numbers one through four inscribed upon it. The first player to reach the goal wins.

In Perspective Mode, the camera's angle changes to view the player from behind, and the screen does not automatically scroll. Additionally, instead of having three hearts, the player has no extra tries when he or she falls off. If that happens, the minigame automatically ends. Also, the player has to beat the opponents, too.
