No Animal Sign with Squawks
A sign disallowing Squawks to go to the forbidden zone.

No Animal Signs are signs that appear regularly in the Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land series. They first appeared in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. No Animal Signs are located in levels that contain an Animal Buddy, as the sign's only purpose is to prevent the animals from going beyond the spot the object is placed. When an Animal Buddy attempts to pass by a No Animal Sign, the animal will either disappear if the buddy is accompanying the Kongs, or transform back into the apes if the Animal Buddy emerged from an Animal Barrel. Although the Animal Buddy disappears, the Kongs will be rewarded with a special item, such as an Extra Life Balloon. The rewards are greater if it is difficult to reach the No Animal Sign.

No Animal Signs do not appear in Donkey Kong Country, as the Kongs can ride Animal Buddies to the end of the level (although they cannot take their friends to the next level). The Animal Signs are absent from Donkey Kong 64 as well, which has an invisible barrier that, once crossed, will forcibly change a Kong who has been transformed into an Animal Buddy back to normal.
