Mr. Softener is an item found in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The item can be purchased at Niff T.'s Item Shop in Petalburg for eight Coins. The item "softens" enemies, thus reducing their defense by three points. This defense cut also applies to enemies without defense points. Mario and his partners will simply deal three points more damage.

This item can also be cooked by mixing a Mini Mr. Mini and a Point Swap.

Conversely, cooking a Mr. Softener with almost any type of Mushroom results in a Dried Shroom.
