Megaleg is one of the cosmic bosses in Super Mario Galaxy; it somewhat resembles a large, mechanical Snifit. It is found in a level known as Bowser Jr's Robot Reactor and appears to be owned by Bowser Jr.

Outlook

Megaleg looks incredibly large, and is found when Mario is flying from a Bullet Bill filled planet to a more technology-based planet, slightly bigger than some others in order to fit the Snifit Bot upon it.

Megaleg has three long legs, as seen in the picture, with tons of tricks and traps that Mario must evade while defeating it, along with a Snifit-like face and fly-like eyes with huge lights beaming out of them.

Attacks

Megaleg shoots Bullet Bills from its underbelly, which consists of various cannons. It will also often shoot heat-seaking Bullet Bills with red eyes. Megaleg fires them at Mario while he attempts climbing up its legs.

Another thing it tries to do is stomp on Mario with its massive feet, while Mario is running around on the Tech Planet.

Introduction

Megaleg's intro as a boss is quite surprising. As Mario is on a small planet, the Mix Planet, collecting coins, he shoots out with a Boost Star to the next planet, and instantly when he arrives, an alarm alert beeper goes off and Megaleg makes three huge stomps, coming up toward Mario and stomping its feet, which means the other bosses in this game may not be as they were in Super Mario Sunshine, for Mario may not be warned to get ready before the boss begins. He may just not know when a boss might turn up and might not be ready to fight one, and may have nothing to do about it.

Strategy

To beat Megaleg, Mario must run toward its feet and wait until they stomp down, then jump on them and climb up his tricky-to-survive-on leg (as indicated by the red arrows on it.), getting to the top where Bullet Bills are ready to chase him.

Megaleg's leg is walkable on as the planets are, and has a couple of obstacles to get past. One part of it is a quentuple-gear obstacle with a row of rotating gears that Mario can easily fall off of. Another obstacle is a triple cannon that shoots Bullet Bills out of it. There are three coins there, and the Bullet Bills are not heat-seekers.

After climbing up the leg, there is the round head that Mario must attack. Several cannons are scattered around its head that Bullet Bills will fire out of. There are about six coins to find on the edges of the head. To defeat Megaleg, Mario must have a Bullet Bill home in on him as he's near the cage on Megaleg's head, and duck out of the way. The Bullet Bill cannot turn to hit Mario if it is timed right. The crash will obliterate the cage. Once that cage is annhilated, several walls will emerge and start spinning to protect the flashing CPU that controls Megaleg. Mario must then have another Bullet Bill ram into the CPU, thus obliterating the tremendous Megaleg. Mario will then be rewarded with a Grand Star.

First, Mario must jump up on its foot after the bot stomps down on the ground in an attempt to squish Mario, then he must run up arrows, avoiding sharp hooks, also avoiding three Bill Blasters at the lump of the chain, then collect two coins, and finally, run past rotating cogs up to where five round holes will continuously shoot Bullet Bills at him.
