Foton

Fotons are enemies dwelling in Outer Space and in the Outer Limits, in the game Super Paper Mario. They look like floating yellow and white squares. Fotons constantly shrink and grow rapidly, going as small as Mario's fist, and sometimes the size of Mario himself. They attack by emitting small heated particles, and firing them at Mario and his allies. Fotons often fire several particles in a row, making those projectiles harder to dodge. Squirps's fireballs can easily destroy these enemies.

Trivia

• The name "Foton" is a corruption of "photon".
• Fotons resemble Chikakos from Super Mario Land.
• Beta versions of these enemies appeared in Fort Francis during production.
