Deck Dry Bones

Template:Minigame-infobox Deck Dry Bones is a boss minigame in Mario Party 9. It is the mid-boss battle against Dry Bones of Boo's Horror Castle.

Introduction

The players are standing on a rock platform, facing a smaller one with the disassembled Dry Bones lying on it. After a moment, Dry Bones assembles himself and jumps into the air. Several cards then appear on screen.

Gameplay

Each card has a color and shape on its back. The player must memorize which card has which figure. After the cards flip over, Dry Bones will land on one of the platforms, and the players must pick one of the cards whose shape matches the platform Dry Bones is standing on. If the players choose correctly, Dry Bones will be damaged, and the players will be rewarded with three points. If the players choose a Dry Bones card, or don't choose any cards at all, Dry Bones will toss a bone at them, causing them to lose one point. Picking a card that does not match in figure will cause nothing to happen.

As Dry Bones loses HP, more cards will appear, along with more colors and shapes to choose from. When Dry Bones is at half health, it will stomp around in anger. After the cards are flipped over, Dry Bones will run across a row or column of cards and shuffle those cards.

The player or players who land the final attack will earn an additional three points, and the player with the most points wins.

Ending

The Dry Bones will break apart and vanish, revealing Mini Stars.

• Rules – "Watch the cards. After they flip over, try to choose a card that matches the image of the platform Dry Bones is standing on."
• Controls – "Hold the Wii Remote vertically. Point at the card you want to select, and press to confirm."

  If players choose the cards that match Dry Bones's platform, they can attack it to earn points.

  As Dry Bones takes damage, additional platforms will appear, along with additional cards to choose from.

  When Dry Bones loses half of its HP, it'll become enraged.

  During the second half, after the players see the cards, Dry Bones will shuffle the cards on one of the rows or columns.

  Mario and Wario deliver the final attack to win the minigame.

  The winners are decided after the minigame, based on their final score.
