(Pretty solid job, only advice is to keep in mind we're describing a video game without getting TOO walkthroughy. In a more "objective" sense, maybe a bit more attention to adverb/verb tense choices.)

Template:Levelbox Chomp Rock 'n' Roll is the second level of World 1 in Yoshi's New Island. It introduces the eponymous Chomp Rock as well as the Mine-Cart Yoshi transformation.

Overview

Screenshot of Yoshi's New Island.

The level starts with a Chomp Rock and some Shy Guys, followed by a pipe that produces Mega Guys for Pink Yoshi to turn into Mega Eggdozers. One Mega Eggdozer must be used to destroy a pipe that blocks an opening to a Whirly Gate; within the Whirly Gate is a power-up that turns Pink Yoshi into a Mine-Cart, and he must reach the end gate by navigating a series of platforms populated with Shy Guys. Past this is a Checkpoint Ring and an Egg-Plant. A second Chomp Rock is found in the next area, and Pink Yoshi must use it to clear a path through several walls of soft rock and a bed of thorns, leading to the level's Goal Ring.

Smiley Flowers

  • Smiley Flower 1: The first Smiley Flower is located in a secret room shortly after the beginning of the level. Above the space where the level's first Chomp Rock comes to a stop, there is a hidden area where Pink Yoshi must Ground Pound onto some soft rock and enter a door. On the other side, he must defeat all the Shy Guys on a series of platforms to produce the Smiley Flower; he can do so using another Chomp Rock.
  • Smiley Flower 2: The second Smiley Flower is found at the end of the Mine-Cart Yoshi course, beside the goal ring. Pink Yoshi must jump to collect it.
  • Smiley Flower 3: The third Smiley Flower is inside a Winged Cloud above the Chomp Rock after the Checkpoint Ring.
  • Smiley Flower 4: The fourth Smiley Flower is found in a hidden area in the ceiling after the upward slope leading to the walls of soft rock. Pink Yoshi can access it by jumping off a Chomp Rock or an enemy.
  • Smiley Flower 5: The fifth Smiley Flower is found in an underground area accessed via the last pipe in a row of five pipes near the end of the level. Pink Yoshi must first clear the thorns at the pipe's entrance.
