Candy Shops are stores found throughout the boards of Mario Party 8, where players can purchase Candies. Provided a player has at least five Coins, they will be allowed to enter a Candy Shop. Candy shops are always run by the local residents of the board, such as Piantas in Goomba's Booty Boardwalk, and Shy Guys in Shy Guy's Perplex Express.

Inside a Candy Shop, the player is presented with three Candies to choose from (on a few rare occassions, two or even all three of the Candies are identical). Candies usually cost between five to twenty Coins, and are sold at fixed prices. However, every once in a while, a Candy Shop will sell its Candies at a discounted price.
