Blue Banana

A Blue Banana is an item used throughout the Donkey Kong series of video games. It looks the same as an ordinary banana, except it has a sky-blue hue.

The Blue Banana first appeared in Donkey Kong 64. Here, there were two varieties. One was Lanky Kong's equivelant of an ordinary banana, so he collected them throughout the levels. The second variety was only found in multiplayer battle mode. When a Kong collected the banana, all of the other players would be encased in a thick, blue, gelatinous goop. This would give the player who used the Blue Banana an advantage until the others broke free.

The Blue Banana is also set to appear as an item in Donkey Kong Jet. Its effects are unknown, although screenshots have shown it turning the user a dark blue color. The advantage of being this color is still unknown.
