- After Mario hops into the pool of liquid metal that serves as entrance to the Hazy Maze Cave in Super Mario 64, its reflection shows an image of Princess Peach.
- A Super Mario-themed chess set was released by USAopoly in September 2009.
- An unnamed plumber resembling Wario appeared in the Episode Plumbers Academy of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. The similarity was most likely coincidental however, since Wario's actual debut was several years later.
